I like how Toon style ages gracefully, while realistic things age disgracefully when the materials are made.

Great work with materials! I was expecting to see something that applies toon style shading to PBR materials after the fact but this kind of setup is computationally much easier to compute.

Hey Ryan, I've been following many of your tutorials for a while and have amassed alot of knowledge on Blender (your a great teacher), but I'm struggling to transitions from someone who just follows your tutorials into someone who can do his own 3d art and animation. How to I cross this divide. I'd also like to do this as a full time career

Why don't you use the solidify modifire to give the objects thickness? That would make things easier imho. :)

Hello, I'm a beginner to Blender and was wondering how you have such good graphics while using Blender. My computer freezes up easily when I'm using Blender. and I was wondering if you bought a graphics processing unit for your computer?

Is it possible to bake this material? I've been fiddling with it for an hour using manual baking and simplebake but I don't seem to understand how the shader works well enough to figure out how to bake it. I tried baking pretty much any channels I could think of. plus all the PBR and Cycles options on simplebake add-on.
@RyanKingArt
@RyanKingArt Ай бұрын
if you bake it then I don't think it will interact with changes to the lighting.
@infuriatinghealer
@infuriatinghealer Ай бұрын
@@RyanKingArt now that i think about it, baking it is kinda pointless. if its for demonstration then render is enough. Also, I was just wondering if this is usable for other softwares or even engines since procedural materials are made in Blender. 😁

17:50 I'm sorry to be nitpicky, but why a color ramp here instead of a stepped map range? You get the same functionality, plus you you can change the number of "colors" much more easily, PLUS you can plug it into group node controls if you want to, P L U S you can us the To Min/Max to drive your transparency with much more control than in your mix shader. Just plug the Map Range's result into a mix or an (ironically) color ramp with the colors you like, and blammo, same effect with more control.
@RyanKingArt
@RyanKingArt Ай бұрын
Sure, you could use a map range, but I like a color ramp better, because of how it looks. Its easier to visually see what your doing. but the map range works fine too.

@mehrdadny8676 3 weeks ago Hello Ryan and thank you for your precious tuts. I am a Graphic designer at a company in my home town. my job is to design packaging for food. I was wondering that it really would be awesome to model the 3d form of the inside of the packages. I mean 3d modeling a cake bar, an ice cream, wafer in different flavors and ..... I have seen many pros doing this in blender and getting awesome and realistic renders outputs like Patrick_4d and many others! would you please create a new playlist and episodes of modeling food products just I like I mentioned? Snacks, chips, cake bar, candy, swiss cake, and ..... that would be soooo great. thank you. you are amazing.
