I might be late to the party here, but this is probably the best beginner tutorial on sculpting I've seen. The simple fact that this tutorial focuses on the technical side of sculpting and actually shows the tools that are neccessary to get started is incredibly helpful. For some reason, so many tutorials on sculpting only tell us what we're supposed to be doing, without actually telling us how to do it (the old "draw the rest of the owl" problem). Now that you've shown the tools to get started, I can finally follow the tutorials that focus on the artistic process behind sculpting and learn that. Great tutorial to get started!

So now that I am sort of decent-ish at sculpting, I wanted to show beginners that everyone starts out bad. But if you keep it up you will improve. Hopefully it will encourage people to keep practicing.

14:30 just a quick tip, if we use F key to change brush size then normally we have to LMB to confirm. We can also customize it in the preference (keymap) by turning on 'confirm on release' so we don't need to LMB to confirm , just HOLD the F key and release it after we change the brush.

The best beginner tutorial about sculpting I've been seeing till now. Basing on those other tutorials I got feeling like sculpting was something unbelievably complex but now it seems as even me, who's like total noob and makes it just as hobby, could try it out :) I've got cheap tablet which I bought some time ago for my child and which is getting covered by dust so will give it a try :) (GAOMON S620 6.5 x 4 Inches) Special thank you for those examples of your first works! It really adds some courage to try it :) Also your tutorials are full of useful hints which accelerates learning speed. Thank you!

0:50 Anyone reading this - Don't let this dissuade you from sculpting! I've never used a pen or wacom tablet, but it just takes a little time to use the mouse. It's similar to asking someone what kind of pen or paintbrush they use. Its all about making the right strokes and less about what utensil makes those strokes. You can also use the stabilize stroke option to make the stroke lag behind a little to give you more even, flowing forms.

Being left handed, I've been struggling to learn (or get accustomed to) using my new tablet. I was immediately relieved to see you are also left handed and have the same setup. The only thing I've added is CTRL+Z as my second pen button so I can undo quickly.

I need help, I'm drawing snake heads and trying to select just the head (originally seperate entities. I go to select and it selects the body and the head because I added (clay to make it fit together). But I added detail since the first time I liked the shape I created, I want to do one "perfect snake sculpted face and keep the progression on other parts (if I go back to earlier files I lose detail in the other parts of the piece). How do I use the lasso select tool so I can delete the extra heads, and focus on one perfect sculpted head that I can duplicate onto the rest of the bodies @@RyanKingArt
