Fun fact: Zelda’s music was deeply inspired by early 20th century French music and impressionist pieces. Ravel’s Bolero was supposed to be the title theme for the 1st game. The fact that we’re seeing so much Ravel and Debussy in the classical answers really doesn’t make it easy.

Oh no, I’ve been telling people this whole time that Ravelle’s Bolero was supposed to be used as the title theme for Ocarina of Time this whole time lol. I think a big tell for many of the classical pieces are the subharmonics of the piano and string notes. There's a softness to each note strike and some reverberation that the MIDI sampling in most Zelda songs lacks. I bet this quiz would be especially difficult if each piece was recorded by the same person on the same instrument with the same equipment.

#8 screwed me. I assumed it was Zelda because I recognized it from a video game. WRONG VIDEO GAME DAN. TRY AGAIN.

On Fountains of Rome it got me. The piano sounds VERY similar to the "Inside Divine Beast Vah Medoh" theme from Breath of the Wild. That same lower, alternating pattern that quickly runs up, then down, and then holds at the low end before repeating. 100% this piece had to be the inspiration for the Zelda song.
