Okay i am 5th generation aussie and I can definitely say if we arent laughing at ourselves, we laugh at others or we do rediculous things JUST BECAUSE.....there is no logic or reasoning to it. We usually try not to be rude or offensive but we like making fun of ourselves or each other. That is where the saying comes from when there is the slightest possibility of a screw up " She'll be right"....and it usually never ends well after those words.......LOL

1:55 Freaks out over a huntsman in someone's shoe. That one's just a baby. I once had a circular clock on the wall larger than a dinner plate, and you could see the huntsman trying to hide behind it via the legs that were peeking out on two opposite sides of the clock. 2:50 You can tell this is in Australia because there's a Reject Shop at the top of the escalator.

Always leave a rolled up sock in your shoes when you take them off. They taught us that in army cadets. If your using boots (like GPs) then stretch the sock, inside out, over the opening of the boot; this stops the creepy crawlies from using your footwear as a lair. Still shake out the shoes before sticking your feet in them -- just to be extra safe.

@shane manning You should have heard what they told us to do with the toilet paper in our ration packs! Each pack only had 4 squares of paper and our Army corporal (they called him Corporal Tricky) told us how to make it last for the two days the ration pack covered (ration pack D, if I remember correctly). It's a bit gross but pretty funny, particularly because we were gullible 14 year olds and Corporal Tricky was very convincing!🤣

I had 2 Huntsman Spiders bigger than large Bread and Butter plates and a couple of Python way thicker than my thigh, We would hear the Spiders chasing each other or their prey for dinner, and when hearing them run across the ceiling I would Climb under the Doona No matter how hot of a night it was and preyed they had Real Sticky Feet, They were plenty of years old, I lived in an 1800s Queenslander on 200 acres. The House was the original Cattle Station Main House and was on 20,000 acres or more before the land was parcelled up into smaller blocks of land.

A Huntsman the size of your hand's bite will have you jumping, I have been done by a couple of Snakes and Large Scorpians BUT the worst and most painful bite I have had was from a 32cm long and over 4cm wide with legs out Centipede, It bit me then crawled in between the bed base and Mattress, I actually thought I had been bitten by a snake, couldn't find a snake so pulled the entire bed apart and found him Curled up, The puncture holes were 3cm apart and its biting pincers actually pierced my arm like an ear peircing just way larger, The pain felt like someone hit me with a Hammer and the initial first pain lasted 10 hours and was terrible for 2 days but the pain didn't stop until 10 Days later or more, The Bastard sits on a shelf at the Gladstone Hospital as part of their collection as it was 4 times bigger than what they had, I saw another one going into a hole in the corner of the ceiling and I tried to stop it with a Broom Handle pushed onto it and it just Bulldozed its way from under the pressure I had on it, Damned thing had to be twice the size of the one that bit me I think we had a Big nest Happening and he was Grandad. A month after being Bit We moved into the new 6 Bedroom house straight across the road but on the same property, My Wife and I lived in the Old Queenslander for 26 years raising our 5 girls and no one was ever bitten in the House by ANYTHING And I got Smashed in the last 4 weeks lmao, I don't recommend Centipede Bites for a good time Party Trick. 💀🥵

That spider in the shoe is just a huntsman, they're harmless! i went to work one day on my motorcycle, switched out of my moto boots for my workboots and when i took one off a huntsman that size ran out and did several laps around the ankle of the boot. I'm guessing he wasn't too thrilled with his ride to work, he was in my left boot so all the gear changes he would have gotten a jostle about. I have NO idea how he hid in there, he must have been squished up in a tiny bit of spare room at the end of my toes. Then he ran off into the shed at work and i was quite sad to lose my huntsman from home. They hunt mozzies etc and keep you safe at night. My grandmother used to get them on a broom from various parts of the house when one would appear and release them in her bedroom to keep her safe at night from biteys. 🤣

Except one nearly gave me a heart attack one night. Watching telly late, and saw one on the wall. Finished my show and moved my hand and the damn thing jumped off it! I think it wanted to be friends. It was a big too!

They may not be poisonous, but they are venomous. They just aren't medically significant. Pain, local swelling, etc. Nothing to worry too much about.

Re the ESCALATOR ... it wasn't in America that's for sure. It was certainly in a country where they drive on the LEFT, just like we do. The escalator was going up and it was on the left hand side.

The hind legs of those ‘roo, as we aussies call them, are what make them a force to be reckoned with. They’ll rip you, or your poor dog apart right in your stomach without blinking an eye. If they get hold of you with their upper legs, they lean back on the tail while holding you then kick down with the hind legs and rip you to pieces. My dad lost a couple his dogs like this. We ARE generally easy going and love to laugh at ourselves and tease others, but it’s always done in a fun way to not make others feel bad. Like any country we have a good share of "tosses and wankers" too, and they’re dealt with in a very…….. different…… way. Lol

On the kangaroo jumping height. I used to live an Canberra and I saw 6ft tall red kangaroos would jump over cars when crossing the road. I have had spiders in the shoe several times. Especially if you leave them outside! In Canberra, would had a huntsman living on the outside of our winder that was the size of a dinner plate. The thing with kangaroos is that they can use their tails to support themselves allowing them to use both powerful legs and claws to rip into you. Imaging a 6ft+ big red male doing that to you.

Thats not a rat, its a quokka. A species of very tiny wallabies. Only found on Rottnest island WA (the Dutchman, Vlamingh, thought they were rats too - 400 years ago). Super friendly normally but cornering one is dumb. That was a rat that fell on the guy in PJs. The bird that took the spider off the car was a magpie lark. Might have been another one on the little gecko but i think that was a kookaburra. Mummy spider on the nest was a huntsman. The one in the shoe was a wolf spider. Both harmless, although the wolf spider might bite you if you piss him off. But unlikely and despite what people say doesnt hurt much. That was a freshwater crocodile. They’re pretty harmless unless you get a big one and you grab it. They’re a bit like foxes that swim. Little ones are cute.

No, that video was American and was actually a Muskrat. I saw the video about a month ago and everyone was commenting on it. And besides a Quokka wouldn't act like that.

As a 70's Aussie kid I was taught that you always checked your shoes if you left them outside. You stomped on the toes and tapped them upside down on the ground before putting them on. Saved me once or twice from a big old scary huntsman 😉

To us Aussies, we just can't help but laugh at people who mess up. We can't help it. It is just too bloody funny. And if we are in that mess up situation, we either just don't react and stay chill, laugh or be really angry and laugh about it later. And I can tell you as well that when we get angry it is either the funniest or scariest thing.

those seated flying fox things are insane here. My dad flying down one, and stupid 3 year old me decided it would be fun to get in its way. so my dad ended up kicking me in the head while moving at about 45 km's an hour, and i got about 4 or so seconds of air time. he was and still is a heavy man. i got remember much after that, but i think we just continued our holiday interrupted by a hospital. free health care and we refuse to use it XD
