This has been one of my favorite videos of yours. It was really cool to see a businessman in business attire, fly fishing. Actually, it made me both happy and sad. Happy because he was able to escape and do something he loves, yet sad because his friends and coworkers are most likely very different then most fly anglers. That's a lonely place to be.

I stealth camped for a week on the west side of Manhattan last month (October) for the New York Comicon. Unlike Van Alley, on the regular streets one has to move your vehicle every few days because they send street cleaning machines through accompanied by teams of parking ticket people. Interesting to see all the people moving their cars out and back as that parade goes through. I had actually planned to visit Van Alley also, since I had seen videos of it previously, but never made it over there. I had a great time, except my e-Bike got a flat tire and so I tried the blue Citi Bike system, but that only allows you to use a bike for 30-minutes or they charge extra (even if there are no open working bike spaces at your destination). But I had fun traveling around the city. It turns out that one can get into the American Natural History Museum for free in the final hour it is open. After that I crossed over to Central Park and I came across a live music vigil or remembrance gathering for John Lennon at the Strawberry Fields section of the park. Leaving in New York traffic was awful, I could have gotten out and walked faster.

As a Marylander, I have traveled to New York City a few times for work and fun. I had always heard the phrase "Curb your dog" and never knew what it meant. I stepped in some stuff on the sidewalk! The sidewalk! Also, my wife had her wallet stolen out of her purse while around her neck in front of her. Double-teamed and the thief passed the wallet to another cohort and just like that $800 gone. Welcome to NY! At a conference in the 80s at the Javits Center had to walk back to our hotel and passed a parked van that had to bash the cars in front and back to get out of his space. Welcome to NY. I know, I had it coming not living in NY and visiting. Ryan you are lucky to get out with just a tee shirt. Love your videos.

You are super generous Ryan! Down to earth and humble…. Have you ever been to Northern Saskatchewan, Canada? People always say Saskatchewan is boring. Flat. No trees. Drives me crazy! All they are doing is driving down the Trans Canada #1 highway which runs through the very Southern Saskatchewan. Just a few hours north is forest, beautiful lakes, and so much to see and and tour! You should point your van North to Canada (again) and this time, explore Northern Saskatchewan! We are at Candle Lake, Saskatchewan :). Would love to host you out on the lake for a day of fishing, visiting secluded beaches, and having a barbeque and beverage (or two!)
