Ryan, I've commented on a couple of your videos, but this is the one of RAGBRAI I have been waiting for because you were going through my town of Ankeny on your way to Des Moines! I hope Ames didn't leave a sour taste in your mouth because of your drone getting broke/stuck in the tree. I lived in Ames for close to 8 years and will always have a special place in my heart. GO CYCLONES!❤💛 It's only a 20-25 minute drive to get there from Ankeny so I feel as though it's pretty much in my back yard. I really wanted to try doing the Ames to Des Moines route, but other things came up that I was unable to. I also wanted to say that I feel as though you were a Midwestern in your past life Ryan, you seem so pleasant, nice, personable to be around and always having a good time, very similar to us Iowans. One of the many reasons I enjoy watching your channel/adventures! 🙂

Thank you! @@duzer 🙂Ames definitely has a particular vibe to it, I'll agree. 😅I think that's one reason why I love it so much, it tends to have a different feel from Ankeny, Des Moines, Iowa City, and any other smaller towns throughout. Watching your RAGBRAI videos makes me realize that Iowa does have more to offer than some might think and even towns I haven't even heard of pop up while you're cruising on by. 😁

If there's one thing that sticks in my mind about RAGBRAI it's the heat and humidity. Fun to see all the ways you are able to cool down. Quite a reunion day with Conner, Kevin, Jaz and Amelia all showing up during the day. Very fun to watch!

The 100 mile day was intense. The farm at the 100 mile patch stop was such a refresher. That huge/long uphill going into Luther was quite a challenge. Riding through Jack Trice stadium was absolutely amazing too. Such a great end to such a long day. The ride from Ames to Des Moine was so fast, especially from Ankey to Des Moines. It felt like it was all downhill, and I just blasted that last segment. Downtown Des Moine was awesome to ride through too.

It just boggles my mind to see how many riders there where this year. When I did it in 2012, I thought that was bad, and there where only 8000 week long riders. I will do RAGBRAI again, and I am aiming for 2024. As for your drone. What most likely happened is interference from another drone controller. As a HAM radio operator, that is my best guess. But at least you got most of it :) Stay safe and warm.

I am slightly surprised that other states haven't tried to emulate what Iowa so successfully does every year. I know it is a private undertaking, but it couldn't be done w/o the help of state and local govt. It does stimulate the economy and brings a positive image to the state.

I think other states have long bike rides kind of like this, but they don’t have the magic of ragbrai. The one is Colorado is called Ride the Rockies

That tree climbing was crazy, August 25 I was trimming a tree and the extension ladder was on a dead branch and the branch broke and I fell fourteen feet, eight hours in emergency , a broken collarbone and four fractured vertebrae and a sixty thousand dollar bill, thank god I have insurance , please that drone is not worth even forty thousand dollars and the possibility of dying, just something to think about, a fan for six years, please look up Mira they are in Mexico 🇲🇽
