It's Time For RAGBRAI 2018-Ryan and Ali Bike Across America-Ep 22

RAGBRAI is without a doubt the most fun bicycle event I've ever participate in!
I'm excited to announce that Ali and I are riding across the USA! We're riding Trek's new gravel bikes, the Checkpoint, and the goal is to take the road less traveled in search of great people and inspiring stories. Besides profiling the wonderful people along the way, we'll be asking everyone for LOVE advice. Our route will take us from Oregon to New York and WE WANT YOU to help out. If you have any ideas of places to visit, friends to meet, or burritos to eat, find us on social media and point us in the right direction.

From the people who appears to be hard core during Ragbrai you reveal their golden hearts with true values. It's true what Ali says that this ride is diversed and this is where we all meet. You said "my people" and you meant bike people. A place where people of my skin are accepted, a place where guys like Luke are appreciated and loved. You put your arms around us with no bounds. I rode the two years before this with my Mom and this braught back some great memories. My Mom was so concerned about the butterflies and throwing out the milk weed balls that she almost wrecked her bike a few times lol. RAGBAI is awesome! The best is when the finish is in my hometown of Davenport Iowa. The Bix road race is on the last day and makes for one heck of a tire dip! Everyday is a good day to go for a ride! Agape

As an introvert who rides solo most of the time I always thought of RAGBRAI as my worst nightmare. I ride to get away from people. Specially loud, drunk people. Been enjoying your trip videos.

I hear ya Doug. You'll be surprise tho how many introverts and lone riders there are on RAGBRAI myself included. Not everybody drinks. I see a lot of family rides trending and it's a great sight to see. You can separate yourself if that's what you choose. To each his own I guess and we can respect that :)

You can get a little bit of everything at RAGBRAI...if you wanna rage all night, you can do that, if you wanna ride in peace and go to bed early, you can do that too...it's a bit of a 'choose your own adventure' experience. Thanks for watching buddy!

We were in our tents sleeping by 9 pm. Man we got a great nights sleep and felt all refreshed in the morning and had a great ride. Dude you gotta go with us next year!”

I did RAGBRAI twice. Probably never again unless there is a ride set up for old people like me. You know, who like to sleep at night and have quiet open roads. Yea, I suppose if I were in my twenties I could have a good time with rowdy college frat boys and girls. But as I approach my mid sixties I much prefer very small groups and solitude. I tell people who ask about RAGBRAI that it's like, "Paint Your Wagon", on bicycles. I have ridden, all the way across the country in disjointed stages over several years, three or four weeks at a time.

I went to a one-week annual pagan festival on closed campsite in western NY called Starwood. Clothing was optional so there were man nude people and the nude-but-entirely painted people. I wonder if there are any nude bike rides with RAGRAI or anywhere in this country?

My husband and I decided not to have children. We love eachother more than anything and children are not the product of a marriage. You can have kids and not be married, or be married and not have kids.
