I dont mean to sound rude or anything just generally not aware (american) arre fouled hooked fish legal in commercial fisheries in the UK. Here in the states its highly frowned upon, personally tho I say no matter how you hooked it (unless intentionally snagging) if you land it, it should count.

Local competitions in the UK are OK so long as it is accidental. We are using very small hooks, light line and in this case very light elastic. Not ideal though, need to hook them properly in the mouth which makes them much easier to control and quicker to land.

Thought you'd pack up match fishing Kev? Not seen a video for awhile. Yep that seemed like quieter peg. If they ain't there, can't catch em. I went yesterday to my local members only, tough one, low water cold and clear. Finally caught more in the margin ...

Why do you have your nets so high out of the water, it will do your back in lifting fish over the top of them, also carp can't jump that high (that's when you catch a few),

I use them as a rest for close in pole fishing and sometimes for feeder rod positions when I am exploring the swim but I have also lost a leaping carp out of a lower net a few years ago.
