Even after the buff, the whole combo is just so clunky, slow and greedy on handspace - I think the drake was def a good addition. It really helps being able to mentally play your deck as if the ryecleaver wasn't there, which idk what that really says about the card itself...

The card seems okay, it's just part of a deck that doesn't exist. Building entirely around it is terrible as all it does is give you 1 huge board

@@TheMirksta Exactly! ... that will get reno'd or cleared in some fashion. Big boards in 2024 are worthless unless you can rez them over and over, which is why Hydration Station is the real power card. The sandwich is just a bit of tempo and mana efficiency - if you can get everything to line up.

It would be better on Wild when you have more cards that summon from your deck, and better minions to summon. But Big warrior is sadly too slow if you want to get further than Rank Platinum.

Ryecleaver warrior needs to work 3 times as hard as every other deck just to cheat out one board that, if it gets cleared, the deck has basically no follow up to. It's just fundamentally not worth it. Cutting the cleaver and weapon tech for 2 Tidepool Pupils so you can cast Hydration Station 2 extra times is more worth it than the cleaver 9/10 times.

Was the warrior package card considered? it could potentially add five taunts to hand for the cleaver to summon. Was ot maybe not used due to handsize issues? The second half of the sandwich needs to fit in hand I suppose (honestly haven't tried it, yet)?

Its a good idea on paper but handspace is an issue on slower games and sometimes messes with the hydration station. Tho now that it summons different minions it might work

Shifting 2 mana from the weapon to the sandwich is hardly a buff. Right now it's a little easier than before but they should honestly put the sandwich back to 2 and keep the weapon as is.

bellowing flames and khazgoz addition for example certainly makes the deck a lot better. synergises well with trail mix also.
