Yeah deffo! I’m planning on doing the same with Plymouth, Bristol, Leicester, and Bradford clinical sciences. There’s places like Exeter and that but you wanna check with what the unis wanna see .i.e. national extended diploma, btec with alevel combos, and whatever else. Hope this helped!

So, if you take foundation year does that put you at a disadvantage? I'm really confused. So if I don't get amazing grades at a level, I can still become a Doctor? Will you leave with the same qualification as someone with standard entry?
@rachaelo54108 жыл бұрын
Ross Geller it doesn't put u at a disadvantage. It's just an extra year to brush up on important details before actually doing ur med degree so u do finish with the same qualification as when u go into direct entry. (So yh u don't need amazing grades at a level). It's mainly for ppl who come from disadvantaged backgrounds ie. low family income/ underachieving skl/ u live in a poor place. Or if u took the wrong a levels. Different uni's have different requirements so you have to research each one that offers foundation med

Thanks for so much information...💯 I came from Pakistan and here I'm doing BTEC level 2 with English and Maths GCSE. Shall I progress onto A-levels or BTEC level 3. My college can offer me A-levels. I think A-levels are best because I want to get into medicine and good unis don't accept btec level 3 science. The other thing is that I don't have any GCSEs except my maths and English.... will this effect my uni admission?
@آيزا-م2ح2 жыл бұрын
Definitely take A levels. It expands the universities you can apply to. Also consider retaking your GCSE as a private candidate or only applying to universities that don't emphasize GCSE's

I got AAAB at AS and applied for 1 foundation at King's and 3 other 5 year courses... I mainly applied for the foundation course because we were told that it would be good in helping prepare you for medicine- particularly with essay writing. The essay writing practise, for the most part, was the reason I applied and now I wish I would have applied for the 5 year course... Oh well...
@Anarchhh998 жыл бұрын
***** As long as you went to a non-selective state school from year 7, or meet a different criteria for eligibility, you should be fine. Congratulations on your results also :) . For the A100 course at least, I think you need 3 A-Levels and an AS at grade B. I have some friends who didn't achieve that, but are still applying as they're doing an EPQ to act as a substitute for the AS. In short, I think you may need to do something else to compensate for having 3 rather than 4, but it'd be better to contact the university as I may be incorrect.

Is a level economics a lot of maths?? Is chem, bio, literature and sociology good enough for medicine?
@varshankengatharan71428 жыл бұрын
i do a level economics, it's basically curves, shift in curves, the factors and we have to do stuff like income elasticity of demand where were work out percentage change, it's an interesting topic tho and yh as long as you have bio and chem you should be just fine.

Not really because he got in with lower predicted grades otherwise he wouldn't have been able to get into the 5 year course immediately with his predicted grades; in the UK at least. So foundation year allows u to get in with grades lower than the minimum requirement in a 5 year medicine course. Worth the £9000.
