Interesting fact: Babymetal has a song originally recorded with Dragonforce guitarist, Herman Li. While that's cool on its own, their actual guitarist plays that song at the same tempo in their live shows. The backing band for Babymetal, Kami Band, are a whole show on their own. I'd recommend watching the Rondo of Nightmare live show with the Kami Band intro to see their talent and hear more of the lead singer, Su, absolutely killing vocals.

Herman Li has said that he never expected to play the song live, so he made it super technical. He regretted that when he had to play live with Babymetal. Was still awesome. We also have to cut Sam and Herman some slack; they don't get to practice the lines day after day or perform them show after show. Sam and Herman wrote some lines (of course not this song) and had to snatch them back up when they played with BM as a feature. Of course, they killed it, as did the girls.

Babymetal are literally that group you didn't know you needed until you stumble on them. Always blows my mind that in this video Su is 15 and Moa and Yui are only 13. They're literally babies but have so much energy and stage presence. Would highly recommend the Road of Resitsnce Live in Japan video, their performance and staging are incredible, the band get to show how skilled they are, and you get to hear Su's incredible live vocals. Also, that video is from 7 years ago when they were only 15-17 years old, and they were already playing a sold out 37,000 capacity with the crowd in palm of their hands. Absolutely insanity

@@regor5150 To be honest - good lip sync is better then shitty live. So many bands cannot play live even their lives depended on it - but they still for some reason try it each and every time, making everybodies ears bleed. Good studio record with great show performance can be so much more satisfying. Its all depends on a artist. Some cannot sing and cannot perform and are only good for spotify list at most. Additionally you must remember that their first album was made when they still were kids - their voices have changed since then, which you clearly can notice on more recent songs, that were made with this in mind.

And just so u know, every famous singer in the world lip syncs at-least 1x in their life. Its not that deep.

"This makes me so happy" and "This is something I didn't know I needed" sounds like my first reaction too; it's just the Babymetal way. They have so much good stuff, you're in for a whole heap of treats. "Headbangeeer" at Legend 1997 (Su the lead singer's 16th birthday, 1997 is when she was born) or "Road of Resistance" the official video will show you just how astronomically good they are live. The hardest working metal band in the world. PERIOD. Seen them live 4 times. 2 of which required me getting on an airplane. Worth every penny. They put on the greatest show. I saw both the largest US show and the smallest US show last tour. LA Forum and Portland OR. Both shows had one huge thing in common. The dedication and energy that went into them. Doesn't matter what size the venue, this band puts in 100%. I watched one video and didn't really have an opinion, but 3 months later that song grew and grew in my brain and I have been a huge fan ever since. I would recommend Karate as one of your first few tracks. That one is right up your alley...

For Metal Head, I suggest the following songs: Headbanger live legend 1997 Road of Resistance live in Japan For HipHop Head: BxMxC - There may be an official video, but feel free to use some from the concert Pa Pa Ya live in Japan In addition to great songs, Babymetal have amazing concerts where even the audience is choreographed. It remains to welcome you into the FoxHole, Kitsune up guys ;) ps. In addition, if you want to explore the voice of the girls Rondo of Nightmare (With mischiefs gods intro) - Suzuka(lead singer) sings a solo here, rather a song for Metal Head Onedari Daisakusen - Sung by Moa and Yui, a song with a slight hip-hop vibe

The operatic mix with metal is something that they truly did with "Rondo of Nightmare". Watch the live version if you can, gets kinda theatrical with a nice instrumental in the beginning that's kinda representative of how they're actually better live than with the studio recordings. Sounds much more organic.

That was a very enjoyable reaction! Yes, it's Metal, but it's happy. You have pretty much hit the nail on the head. There's incredible talent, a totally new approach that somehow manages to work despite the obvious clashing of different elements, and the energy is awesome. Now, imagine that kind of energy turned up to 200%, and you know what this is like live. There's a wide range of everything you can imagine between Metal and Pop, with influences from Reggae, Ska, Waltz, Hip Hop, Dubstep, EDM and more in their music. So not all of their songs sound like this, but all of them sound great. And the live package is as complete as it gets. The dancing adds so much to the entertainment value, after a few videos you'll be wondering how other bands can even get along without it. I would recommend checking out "Headbanger" from the "Legend 1997" show next. You'll be blown away and need a chisel to remove the smiles from your faces.

From the outside, it just looks like any normal shrine with a sizeable stone torii gate but just a short walk beyond that is the main filming location for the ‘ Megitsune ‘ (2013) music video. The Noh Hall is used for various traditional performing arts, festivals and a Babymetal video! The three girls and the band perform the song on stage with the modern impression of bonsai pictured on the wooden panel behind them. This part of the shrine complex is not open every day so please be aware of that should you wish to see it in all its glory. Sunday seems to be the best bet for when it is open for public viewing. This is one of the “Ten Shrines Of Tokyo‘ which are considered the most important as they were selected in 1868 by Emperor Meiji after he had moved to Edo and renamed it Tokyo. The beautiful red torii gates also featured in ‘Tokyo Pop‘ (1988) and they are proof that you really don’t need to go to Kyoto to see such an image!

Su says "Maidens are not to be underestimated" when she pulls the knife. It's from a crime movie and said by the crime lord daughter. Babymetal has release 2 new songs for their comeback. Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal Galaxy 🦊🤘 BM are still "relevant" and they're back after a year of official hiatus with new singles (2 already out) and 3 more coming next year along with live performance and album release, later they will join Sabaton's Europe Tour. They're showing us a new side we've never seen before, so don't worry to jump to this era yet, stay with their early era and get to know how and why they arrive here and still being in the spotlight. Funny you mentioned BMTH, they got the best 2020 collab song called "Kingslayer", and BMTH been performing this song at their live concerts and festival more recently. BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute), mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms, they are: - SuMetal lead vocalist, currently about to get 25 next December 20. - MoaMetal scream and dance, currently 23 yo. - YuiMetal, scream and dance, former member since 2018. None of them are related. This was released in 2013 when having around 13/14 and 15 yo, so is one of their early hits and is full of japanese elements, like the "shamizen" a japanese traditional instrument, and is a party festival song (matsuri). "Sore" "seiya" and "soya" are typical shouts among Japanese festival and it works like a "c'mon!" or "let's go" for them. During the breakdown you can hear another typical japanese folk song called "Sakura Sakura" and they're doing a traditional Japanese dance. I think you need to work with the pronunciation, so to say it right you can use a translator app, but it reads something like "meh- git - su - neh". Song is about female empowerment and if you follow the lyrics you'll see about it, "Megitsune" means female fox (vixen) and they talk about women acting with a smile in their face while crying inside, just to fit in society or what is expected from them, when they're kind to you, they're not trying to make falling in love with them, they're just being their own way, and men tend to confuse and think they're cheating or deceiving. Japanese friends told that "megitsune" used to be a peyorative term in Japanese culture, pretty much just like around the world, but BM is using this as a way to empower women despite the meaning itself. When SuMetal (the lead singer) is pulling out the "tanto" she's saying "maidens shouldn't be uderstimated", that refers to a japanese mob film about some boss mafia daughter before attacking someone. During live performance she does something different and looks really cool doing it. Megitsune is a quintessential BM song and among top ranking songs by fans, SuMetal said she didn't mastered yet, that's why you will hear her doing sound check with this song before live concerts. One of my favorite version is the "Red Fox Festival 2017" with a room full of megitsune only, you can find that at Babymetal Reactor Resource. The origin of the "fox sign" is really long to explained but here's a short summary: The Fox God (Kitsune Sama) is the Metal God who sent these girls (and Kami Band after to help them with the metal sound) to unify the world and set them free from Jpop slavery. The kitsune sign came out by accident around the time they created the group by the girls when trying to imitate the typical metal horn sign they noticed it was similar when doing fox shadow shape, they implemented this as part of the lore, imagery, theme and live concerts, the lore is huge so take your time and keep digging and riding the Foxhole 🦊🤘 Btw they praised for real and made a ritual to the Fox God for this song to be a hit and successful, and thanks to the Fox God this is one of their major hits and favorite BM fan songs. "NotACult" 👀 We know Amuse is very hard to deal with copyright blocked issues, fortunately we got a way to go around with "Babymetal Reactor Resource" YT place, you'll get full original clips of their best live performance with watermarked logo safe to react, look for "Future Plans" vid, follow instructions and you'll get all of them, upload the one with the logo for us and you can watch without it, don't worry for us we already saw all of them. You'll find some watermarked clips in the channel also with the description and where to get the non-logo version. If you want you can watch the original clean version and pause whenever you like to say your comment and after that you can put a logo provided in the same place so you can enjoy a clean version from the beginning. You can also put some heavy opacity and translucent effect to avoid those issues if necessary. However there are some safe clips to react like those from Legend 1997 or some of Budokan 2014 or previous to this year and Festivals that is out of reach from Amuse hands. By all means AVOID live compilations at least for first time watching, not saying all of them are bad but chances are you'll end up facing the bad ones bad edited, very confusing, switching costumes and distracting you from the performance and meaning of the song. Also avoid Glastonbury Festival performance, the sound is bad and the crowd isn't the usual fans. Here's some examples of safe to react live performances: - "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" live at Legend 1997 (2013, you can find this a "Gans Tomas" or "abr metal") got this under Head Bangya title; or live at Legend I (2012) is another good option. - "Rondo Of Nightmare" with Mischiefs Of Gods Intro live at Budokan 2014, this one normally is safe to react without any filters. ("Kawaii Metal" got this clip) - "Catch Me If You Can", you got live at Budokan 2014 with subtitles version at "GuilhermeCait" or live at MetroRock 2015 in Babymetal Reactor Resource under the title "CMIYC". - "Ijime Dame Zettai" live at Sonisphere Festival 2014 (lately hasn't been so safe, so careful) - "Karate" live at Download Festival 2016 ("kitsune6001" got this one). If you follow this step by step you won't have blocked issues the majority of times, but sometimes there has been issues with certain songs so if you got those try to put opacity, blur or translucent effect, that might help a little bit. Now you know why we said "kitsune" (fox) to male fans and "megitsune" to female fans but collectively we are officially known as "The One". See you next time.🦊🤘🔥

Hiphop+Metal? Why not, there's BxMxC (2020, basically rap metal), or IINE (2013, playfully hiphop). For screaming parts, they often got help, such as Alicia White Gluz in DISTORTION (2018), fHero in PA PA YA (2019), Sabaton in OH MAJINAI (2019). MEGITSUNE is their staple, their own metal, lyrically implying about the story of themselves and their lore, and how they would do their metal (at least back then), with two little girls at the side of the main singer, dancing and chanting :)

⚡ 💀 💕 / 🦊 ⛩ [MOA] SU-METAL will slash you. Really. [YUI] Yeah. [SU] (laughs) (Megitsune video commentary from the BABYMETAL members) The lyric when Su pulls the tanto (short blade) out of the microphone is: "Otome wa… nametara ikan zeyo." ("Maidens… should not be underestimated.") Su was 15. Yui and Moa were 13, almost 14 when the music video was released. Even though they were wearing white robes, this was not the Kami Band that BABYMETAL have at live shows. The performers pretending to play the traditional Japanese instruments in this video are dancers with the Movement Design group. Chidori Yakumo is their director. She is the woman performing the fan dance during the breakdown. Megitsune is my jam. It's still my favorite BABYMETAL song, video and choreography. Definitely quintessential BABYMETAL and their most Japanese song. You could even call this Kawaii Festival Metal. With some electronicore mixed in. BABYMETAL's producer Koba sent this song back to the song arranger Yuyoyuppe dozens of times before he was satisfied with it. This one consistently tops fan polls, and has been performed live more than any other BABYMETAL song. BTW, "Megitsune" is more like "Meh-gee-tsoo-neh", with that "ts" sound being like the "ts" at the end of "hats". There is no silent "e" at the end of words in Japanese.

Nice reaction. A hip hop head and a metalhead just now hearing Babymetal. I would say folks have been holding out on you guys. Your set up has just been waiting for you to find Babymetal. Their music kawaii metal is a metal base with a Jpop top and whatever music they feel like putting in the middle. Babymetal is a unique group. They have done things their own way since 2010. Recording their first album around two years later. Megitsune is Babymetals most performed song. And yes, it's very lit when they do it live. Which brings me to something you will find even cooler than watching their music videos. Watch them perform live. They've won awards for their live performances. If watching this music video is cool. Check out their other music videos. And then watch those same songs performed live. Moves the song to new levels amazement. Then check out their other songs that they only have live performance videos of. Some are next level of epicness. While babymetal dances to all their music. There really is no comparison between Babymetal anyone else. because outside of dancing there isn't much to compare as they are different genres of music. Apples to oranges kind of thing. Babymetal was one of the first bands if not the first metal band to have full on dance routines to all of their songs. Babymetal is the three girls dancing and singing. When they perform live they have a stage band playing the music called the Kamiband. Put them together and the unreal happens. Jpop and metal working together in ways no one thought possible. As for the lyrics of this song most do as Su says, "Don't Think, Feel". She paraphrased Bruce Lee but it still works when listening to Babymetal. Overall, the song is a statement about females in Japanese society. But it could be in other places as well. Kitsune are shapeshifters who change shape to trick folks. Here they make that a comparison to ladies wearing makeup. Not doing it fool anyone. They do it more to hide how they feel inside as socially in Japan. Ladies aren't supposed to show their emotions. Just smile and nod. Babymetal wants to break that by say it's Ok. Ladies are Megitsune. Basically, saying their better than that and a step above. Fox's play a big part in Babymetals symbols because of this song. You will see fox's everywhere around Babymetal. Including their hand gestures. They give the fox sign instead of the devil horns like you would see at most metal performances. all part of Babymetal doing things their own way. Which is why Babymetal is everything you want in music and somethings you didn't know you needed.

If you want a live version of the wonderful world of Babymetal, check out "Rondo of NIghtmare with the instrumental opening by the Kami Band. If you search it on youtube as "Rondo of NIghtmare", the channel "Ferr" has a good copy of the whole thing. Make sure to blur it and stop and start and you'll be great! DO IT PLEASE! And then do the other 40 songs in their discography.

The great thing about Babymetal is you have no need to understand the lyrics to enjoy their songs. Their choreography is deliberately interpretive in order to provide some meaning to non-Japanese audiences. Lead singer Suzuka Nakamoto (Su-metal) was specifically chosen to be the foundation of Babymetal by producer Kei Kobayashi (Kobametal) when he saw her perform at the age of 11, not only because of her powerful stage presence, but also because she sings loud enough to not get drowned out by the loud metal instruments. Su will be turning 25 this week (December 20th) and The ONE (Babymetal's fan-base) are looking forward to celebrating our Queen's birthday! (NotACult)

The perfect song to start off with! Apart from being amazing, it's one of the earliest and most quintessential BABYMETAL songs, and I think it's safe to also say their best music video. BABYMETAL is otherwise known for their exceptional live performances and is therefore the best way to see and hear them. Su-metal (the main vocalist) has said "Don't think, just feel" regarding the music.

Megitsune:- "Megitsune" (メギツネ, "Vixen") is the second major label single by the Japanese kawaii metal band Babymetal. It was released in Japan on June 19, 2013 as the fifth single from the album Babymetal. It is also the first single released independently from the idol group Sakura Gakuin. "Megitsune" A figure with a kitsune (fox) mask wearing a headpiece and a black robe on a red background, holding two shamisen criss-cross behind it. The single was first announced for a June release on April 1, 2013. The single was released in four versions: a standard edition and three limited editions. The "Ki", "Tsu", and "Ne" (Kitsune means "fox" in Japanese) limited editions included single artwork focused on Nakamoto, Mizuno, and Kikuchi respectively, and their included DVDs feature footage of two songs from each of the live performances from Live: Legend I, D, Z Apocalypse. Additionally, the single included a chance to contain a ticket to the premium event Kitsune Festival at Meguro Rock May Kan on July 14, 2013. To promote the release, the band was featured in the June issue of Marquee and on the cover of the July issue of Hedoban, in addition to collaborating with Tower Records for the 34th rendition of the event No Music, No Idol?. Babymetal concert chronology:- •Babymetal Death Match Tour 2013: May Revolution (2013) •Babymetal World Tour 2014 (2014). The Babymetal Death Match Tour 2013: May Revolution (BABYMETAL DEATH MATCH TOUR 2013 -五月革命-, Babymetal Death Match Tour 2013 -Gogatsu Kakumei-) was a promotional concert tour by Babymetal, occurring in conjunction with the promotion of "Megitsune". The band performed four shows, with two on the final tour date, at the same venue. Customers who purchased tickets to the tour could receive an exclusive edition of the single, with a remix by Yuyoyuppe, under the name DJ'Tekina//Something. According to Mizuno, the tour was designed to be a "training tour". During each of the four shows the three members wore stage costumes for the eras of "Doki Doki ☆ Morning" (which had become nostalgically small for them), "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!", and "Ijime, Dame, Zettai", respectively, with the final show premiering new costumes for "Megitsune". Excellent first reaction - and "Mass of Great", yes I think that is a very apt description of BABYMETAL. They are Japanese - and apart from the most recent single which has a lyric video you will not find translations on any official videos (some fan made or fan edited videos do have them). Don't worry about that - you can look up lyrics before or after listening to their songs or we will explain the meanings in the comments - all you need do is sit back, listen and enjoy. As Su-metal the lead vocalist once said "Don't think. Feel." Great choice of song for your first time hearing them, it is possibly the one song that comes closest to showing who and what they are given the very Japanese meaning and feel to the music (right down to using traditional instruments in the intro and the exact melody of a very well known Japanese folk song ('Sakura Sakura') for the breakdown with the pig squeals (no, the girls did not to the screams) ... but they have over 50 songs and every one of them is different. Next reaction - pick whatever you want (lots of good suggestions in the comments already), ideally live, they are a live performance act first and foremost. They will blow you away every time - just expect the unexpected.

Ah, yes, the first babymetal song I heard and fell in love with!!! They're amazing, have amazing music, and also amazing performances. I wouldn't call myself their biggest fan, but for years I've dreamed of going to a concert of them. The videos I've seen of them live always blow me away, plus everyone who's been to a concert comments on just how awsome they are. I recommend you listen to Headbanger, Rondo of Nightmare, Akatsuki and Sis. Anger. Some of this have live versions with the Kami Band intro, which I absolutely recommend checking out. They're amazing as well. P.S: And yes, they're VERY theatrical, which is another thing I love about them. And yes, they're japanese and have been around for 10 years at least.

The band in the video background was just extras not really playing anything. The Kami Band are an act unto themselves, but the combination with Su, Moa, and Yui was something I never knew I needed. A few years ago they performed live with Rob Halford, and Corey Taylor is such a huge fan that he gave them a cameo in his music video for "CMFT Must Be Stopped."

Nice first reaction, and good song as a first reaction. Since one of you is a metal-head, and the other is into hiphop, I think you guys might like to check out Iine (2 letter i's, so it isn't line, but pronounced EEnay). And although live is always better than the music videos, in this particular case, I'd recommend the music video, or even better do a double feature, where you do the music video first, then do a live version. This way you can even see the difference. Either way I think you'll enjoy it. That being said, you can't really go wrong with these girls. It is also really fascinating watching and listening to them as they are growing older. It isn't something you can actually witness very often seeing as in this video I think the singer is 15 and the 2 dancers are 14. I might be a year off, but that is pretty much their ages in this video. Main singer was born in 1997, 2 dancer a year and a half before that.
