I used eco mode in the beginning but found I was focusing too much on the little arrow. I usually shift anywhere around 3000-3500 rpm. Cheers Beth!

Beth, great video for people thinking about getting a Spyder. I live in very mountainous area with lots of twists. I am regularly down shifting for compression breaking. I ride with a club that has a number of Spyder riders. We ride Spider RT LT's and Sea to Sky's. We have found that when you shift don't tap the shifter paddle quickly. When you push the shifter paddle to change gears ( up or down) keep pressing and hold the paddle for a full second. It makes the shift much smoother under had acceleration and de-acceleration. We found quickly tapping the paddle makes clunky shifts. Give it a try and let us know if you find the same thing.

Thank you for this Beth! My wife Sharon started riding my RTL and I didn't even think of using the Eco mode as a trainer. I found it interesting that my F3S with the manual transmission also has Eco mode and gives the same shift prompts. 😎

It is a great training tool!! Thanks for letting me know the original, manual Spyders, have that option too!

Beth, my wife's '17 F3S has the 6 speed manual tranny ... which is what she wanted. She had two previous cycles, both manual, said she wanted to keep the motorcycle 'feel.' That being said, I now know how a traditional Spyder shifts which is really pretty cool! Ned in SC

I have been riding an F3 for almost a month, still kind of use eco mode, at first found intimidating, still kind of new and learning my F3 as I ride every day.

Did go on my first ride with another Spyder Rider, rode for 3 hours down to the St. Albans, MO. Area, the fall leaves in the hillside were awsome.

Good video and great information. Are you planning on doing a video of the new 25 models? I'm looking at purchasing the See to Sky. Either the 24 white or whatever the color is for 25. Do you know if the Spyder's come equipped with SiriusXM compatability? Thanks

Thank you so so much for watching! I will be at a Can-Am rally next weekend and I hope to get my hands on the 2025 models then. I will definitely put a video out! As far as SiriusXM is concerned, the newer Spyder models have CarPlay, which should mirror anything that is on your iPhone screen. Hope that helps!

@@RykerRydes I don't have an iPhone, I have Android. But I guess I'll just have to ask the dealership when I get there. Thank you very much for your time.

I love that year, color and model. I will definitely choose that exact bike over the new 2025 F3 limited. I don't need a backup camera...plus I like the rims on the 2024 better :)

Good video. I’ve got 12,000 miles on my RTL. I don’t like using Eco mode, and I find the automatic downshifting doesn’t come as soon as I’d prefer. But those rider aides are great, especially for the new riders we need to join us on the road.

Do you know why they didn't just go full auto? It seems dumb that auto shifts down, but you have to shift up. I feel like it was a poor design decision by them, but curious if there is actually a reason.
@fire30482 ай бұрын
I agree there, as they must have the knowledge as the Ryker is fully automated! But then again there a few other things that they should of done like keyless ignition, protection over the belt drive etc! Ride safe regards Stephen Alberta Canada.
@RykerRydes2 ай бұрын
People seem to like the idea of shifting and having that extra control over the ride. I was told they may consider doing a fully automatic Spyder in the future, but I would think it would make it more expensive too.
