RYOBI 100AH Electric Riding Lawnmower 3 Year Update And Review!

It might seem like we just did the 2 year update on this mower, and we did post that about 7 months ago, however, it was a super late video and more of a 2 1/2 year follow up. It was, at that time that we started noticing an issue with the mowers power, and did a couple videos between that one and this one taking you through how we handled those issues. In this video, we get back on track with a 3 year update to see how well the new battery we replaced in the Spring is working and give it a good test against the fury of our oak trees by picking up 58 bags of leaves on a single charge! We are definitely disappointed that we had to replace one of the batteries at around the 2 year mark, but feel it was bogus from the start and we just never caught it. In the videos listed below, we go over this to help others recognize and also show how to test your mower so that you can hopefully find issues like we had early while your mower is still under warranty and hopefully not have to pay the $200 bucks to replace one it like we did....

You’re telling me Danny we used to have five more giant ones they were about 6 feet in diameter at the stump had them all removed they were too close to the house and I did cut down a substantial amount of leaves are used to get about 100 bags every time we did this…. It also opened up the sun around our house and let our solar panels produce more so that’s good too…..Will be doing a follow up on them soon

56 bags is a lot of leaves! I've been using a battery powered lawnmower for over 15 years and love it, I had to cut my neighbors lawn while he was on vacation and used his gas mower and boy you forget how loud and how much they smell, your clothes actually stink after using a gas mower.

I bought this at the end of last summer after watching your videos. I couldn't be happier with it! I did my fist leaf pick up today, it did a great job, very very happy. I didn't have a chance to change the mulch blades before doing the leaves today but it picked up so well I don't think I will change them just for the leaf season. Thanks for all your reviews!

Nice machine and much easier to gather leaves. When I was a kid it was raking them up which took a couple days. My Mom used to have a compost pile from leaves and other things.

We used to get over 100 at a time, but we cut 5 of the huge oaks down quite a few years ago because they were out of control and too close to the house....we got a great deal from a friend so it was worth it to cut down the work and also open up more sun to our solar panels which we will be following up on soon!! Hopefully no issues going forward with this but we will continue to do updates since so many people are interested in it....

That is one bad a** mower no doubt man! Its a beast for sure. If my yard was bigger and I needed a riding mower I would for surely look into that bad boy. Yes it does! The manual recommends that with lead batteries it does and we use it year round and have done many videos on it because so many people are interested but we will continue to do updates. Being able to plow with it was a major role in us getting this mower for sure!!

I see you have on your night safety Blue lights blinking. How long does it take to charge from dead?

We mention and everyone of these videos that we really aren’t sure how long it takes because we just kind of plug it in at night by morning obviously it’s charged we do the same thing with the Volt…. It depends on how much energy is gone and all that stuff but if somebody had a large amount of stuff to do and wanted to charge them between two cuttings we would simply recommend they get something else there are electric mowers that are bigger they go longer not many but they are very expensive compared to this one….If that was a question if somebody had because of that specific reason we would probably recommend that they just cut one day charge it overnight but the rest the next day we have been a situation where we’ve had to do things like that just because of rain or because it got too dark or cold or later whatever but it hasn’t happened very often

Perhaps you should write Ryobi, complain about your experiences with a suspected defective battery, and request compensation. Refer the to your YT evidence. Maybe they'll give you benefit of the doubt and give you some coupons, discounts or something. You certainly have plugged their product very well. You have also made me feel more comfortable with buying a Ryobi unit and bagger.

What type of blade are you using and the bag setup? I just bought that mower and this is my first fall with it.

we did a couple videos on the blades and they are in the yard stuff playlist....the bags came with "bag blades" that we put on and they are easy to switch out from the "mulch blades" that the mower initially came with....they are very easy to change and if you find that video it will help....just look at the yard stuff playlist and scroll down to it....it's also in the playlist we have about all our electric and solar stuff....lots of videos are in mulitple playlists but they are easy to find....

Great video!!! I have a question, do the battery die-down after sitting awhile? The problem I have with my riding mower, either have to charge the battery or buy a new one every time it sit for a long time... Thanks for sharing my friend:-)

We do leave it plugged in at all times as the handbook recommends, but we do use it during the winter to plow which was one of the biggest motivations to get it since we could use it in all four seasons .... we have done videos on plowing with it and will be doing more this winter for sure....we love this thing!!!!
