I got one last spring and love it. Drop in the batteries and mow. No changing oil, pulling a starter rope. The other upside is you can mow at 6 am before it gets hot in the summer, and no one complains.

Just bought one last week. Hope the weight isn't too much for me. I've been using a reel mower for years but have moved and have a much larger yard.

@Rebecca Oliver It's self-propelled with on the fly AWD. It will pull you around the yard with ease.

Im currently cross-shopping this with the GreenWorks 80V Pro and the EGO 2156. This is the most detailed review of this mower I’ve seen.

Look at all the other tools you may want by each of the manufacturers and all the costs. I went ryobi and have been very pleased.

I got the 20 inch push model today. I want to put it on a golf cart to transport. Should be good to go.

I just bought one... Returned it two days later. 😄 - low power - clogging - even the biggest batteries (6Ah) don't last long enough

I have the single blade model and it's also heavy. I think it's the base because it's so bulky along with the batteries and motor. I've used gas powered mowers all my life and this one is heavy. I love mine though because no has no cranking no changing oil it's sweet

i just upgrade to the whisper crosscut, awd, self propell from a 20" non of the mention feature and the most useful feature is self propel. the first thing i notice is the whisper model blows grass everywhere (beside the weight) unlike the 20" model.

I like the 20 inch. Got it at a steal price of $300 canadian with 2 5ah batts an 2 chargers.

I dunno about those 'slient' thing... I have the 20" one from Ryobi and it generates WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY less noise than any gas powered one. In fact, I tried to get one with self propelling feature... but there was none in stock when I needed to replace the old gas mower ASAP. (I tried all the repair I could.. cleaning up carb, changing filter, changing oil, blade, etc. etc... but 20 years of age I could not overcome) Yet, due to mainly plastic build of the mower, the self-propelling wasn't necessary. I'm not sure about Ryobi mowers, but some electric self-propelled ones suffer from gear torque when trying to reverse. Simply put, you have to overcome a stand-still motor torque when trying to reverse if it doesn't have reverse mode. So, I don't think non-self propelling isn't a bad option for electric push mowers. I'm skeptical on electric full size cars. But for outdoor power tools and small rides, electric is the way to go!

You indicate in the KZbin description that this is the Ryobi RY401150US. The RY401150US is rear wheel drive (not AWD) and is not the Whisper Series. What is the correct model number of the mower you are reviewing? Thanks!

Good catch! Sorry about that. We had to go back and look at the actual online receipt. This was RY401210. Thanks again we have updated the description as well.

Depending on your yard it should take you about 1-2hrs to mow it anything more you need somethin industrial if you mow it once a week thats 52hrs a year so 4 years and now lets say 2hrs its now 104hrs so 2yrs and ontop of that ryobi has a 3-5yr warranty and ontop of ALLLLL that you’ll spend 500 a year filling up your gas mower a year most likely and lets say $100 each year to do maintenance buying an electric mower still comes out on top

I have this one. In my opinion for the huge $$$$$$ it could be by FAR BETTER. It's a damn tank, the bar you push with could be tallER for us tall people. It really bogs down in higher grass.

The idea of those mowers is nice, but the problem is.The manufacturers will end up screwing you. With battery prices, you can already see it.the batteries are ridiculous.

I think he was referring to all the dirt and grass coming out of the nook and cranny spots on the mower. Especially the sliding mulch door. I think maybe when his catch bag got full, there was no where else for the cuttings to go so they were forced to squeeze into other places
