And with the blade on the LHS it is easier to see the cut line.

Put a couple 2x and a sheet of plywood on those horses. Voila a workbench. I use 2x stuff on top of that to lift and support work for cutting. Don’t want foam dust polluting my compostable sawdust.

Also I prefer to cut with heavy wide side of the saw base on the keeper so you don’t have to carry the saw on exit.
