I had the same problem getting the blade off my Ryobi 10" miter saw, couldnt get if off with a breaker bar etc. Some one on you tube (thank you) suggested heating the bolt with propane torch, well it worked loosend the blade alright but still seemed stuck, so tightend it again, but seemed to lock it up.Gave up till today, so this time I left the propane heat it till it was real hot. grabbed the socket & breaker bar and low & behold it worked. got the blade off no problem. I am going to get in touch with home depot & see if I can get a new bolt for it.

Was at this for awhile. Got a 2ft breaker bar and a 1/2 socket. I put a 2x4 in the blade to stop the rotation. This was far more effective than the stopper button. Came off easily with that approach

In our case, the blade wasn't turning, so 2x4 wouldn't help. The bolt was turning independent from the blade, but never came out.

Did you ever get the blade off? I agree with David, try using an impact wrench, (not driver), to loosen the bolt. I couldn't get the arbor bolt off of my Ryobi 7-1/4" cordless miter saw. I tried using an 18" breaker bar, then a 2200 in/lb impact driver, then I ended up using an impact wrench before the bolt would come loose.

Same thing happened to my Craftsman. WD-40 and an impact wrench did it

Blowtorch heat and an impact driver worked immediately! No more bloody knuckles

Grip pliers on the blade disc and socket wrench worked for me

bolt is probably getting rounded/stripped. I'm having same problem. Gonna try a bolt extractor tool that's supposed to catch a rounded bolt.

Have you got a link or pic of what your describing?

I’ve been working at this for about 45 mins now and can’t for the life of me get the damn bolt to come loose. I’m aware that it’s left handed threaded and so turning it to the right (clockwise) should be the correct way. Crazy ! 😡

I got mine off same problem I hit the disc washer underneath the nut while pushing the blade hold button clockwise with a hammer and screwdriver and some wd 40 👍 can't teach this s**t

heat gun for 90 seconds up close + wd40 + impact drill 1/2" did the trick for me

Mine isn’t even a hex nut anymore. Just a rounded nut with an Allen head

i have the same problem did you ever find a solution?
@franklylivin4 жыл бұрын
Nope. I was going to try an impact wrench, but eventually gave it back to the person I borrowed it from. He never did say how he managed to bend the blade.

Did you ever solve this? I’ve got the same problem with my new ryobi miter saw. Seems like ryobi likes to over tighten these off the factory

To loosen any spinning blade, you must turn in the Opposite Direction than the spin.
@cdanc39892 күн бұрын
Incorrect (at least in the case of the Ryobi TS1144 7 1/4" miter saw), the instructions clearly state that the threads are left handed and you have to turn the bolt clock wise to loosen. In respect to the bolt the saw blade also rotated clock wise. I cannot verify because I cannot remove the hex key bolt.
@cdanc39892 күн бұрын
I verified this with both my Delta contractor saw and my Craftsman radial arm saw. Loosen in the direction of rotation(clockwise), tighten opposite of the direction of rotation(counter-clockwise). For all blades. In the case of my Ryobi and Craftsman they are both left-handed bolts, where my Delta is normal or right-handed.

Same problem. The reason I don't buy Ryobi tools anymore. Designed by idiots.

What reasonable person would think you'd actually ever need to change your saw blade. This thing is a better boat anchor than a saw.

just use a piece of wood and the disc won't spin.
@josemoreno33342 жыл бұрын
Did that but the arbor nut still spins but not the blade.

That’s because you have the wrong size socket it’s probably popping off the corners.
