Mine cracked in the same spot on the back and directly across in the front. Seems like a manufacturing/molding issue with so many people having the same problem. Smells like a class action lawsuit. I'm down for getting a $5.74 check in 8-10 years! 😂
@kennethlore24926 күн бұрын
Had the same problem with identical crack on the front. Since the cracks appear to be in the exact center of the front and rear, it appears to be a problem associated with the molding process.

It you do this again you should add a little more information such as how fast you are driving and what the outside temperature is. Without that it’s hard to determine what any of this means. And if you have an attack chicken in the car you should show it as it adds some fun to the video. I hope you are enjoying the car.

I had the same crack in the back, but only noticed it after a while, bought a new one as a backup for the day I would need to replace it, when the time came, I started unboxing the new one, and noticed the new one, which was still wrapped up also had the crack at the same spot. Kohler would not take it back since too much time passed since I bought it. must be a manufacturing error of some sort.
@Me-Ani-116 күн бұрын
Update: The issue with the crack was back in 2022, the new ones now in 2024, like your new one, don't seem to have the crack issue any more.

Many thanks! The lack of installation instructions in the box was annoying. We had 3 Kohler toilet seats that lasted 6 years before each of them started showing cracks, one in exactly the same place you noticed, the others along the side. Happened with or without the installed soft padding wedges, since we had two with and one without, all of which eventually cracked.

EU and Korean model has Car Wash button on the screen.. not sure why removed it for US. I get it many people likes fast car wash but like any expensive cars, you don't want to put thru auto car wash if you want to preserve the paint. I would use the no-touch car wash or use pressure wash
@franklylivinАй бұрын
I get that. I got the Light Long Range trim for the practicality and low maintenance. (not performance and style) I'm lazy so running it through the auto wash is a quick way to get the job done. No issues with the paint yet.

Like the other folks are saying, THANK YOU! No instructions in the box for this model of seat, and my old seat had a simple nylon screw and nut. Had no idea how to use this new fastener system, I would've never figured this out without your video!

I MUST send you a BIG Thank You for this video. I had the same problem with my old seat, except the crack was at the front instead of the back as your was. I ordered the same replacement seat which came with ABSOLUTELY NO INSTRUCTIONS. I did not find the installation process self evident at all, and I sincerely appreciate how you saved me a lot of frustration and time wasting. I also appreciated your tip about reusing the seat support thingies as the package was missing one! Thanks again from one weekend warrior to another!!

Is it possible you have the part that goes into the door jamb hole backwards or upside down? Around the 25 second mark. Or maybe it is protruding too far out?

car wash mode is for European models only. US models they left it out. Not sure why. We all need it. Just like they left out the SD Card slot to auto video record your driving. Only Korean models got that and they removed that everywhere else. Would have been nice in an event of a car crash. Could go back and see who is at fault.

117 mi at 51%? Is this pretty true to real world mileage you’re still getting on your Light Long Range?
@franklylivin3 ай бұрын
I think that's probably pretty realistic. I think it would get at least that. I've only put just over 2,000 on it, so still getting used to what is realistic depending on driving conditions. A couple recent drives that were 130-140 miles with an average speed was 70 mph only used 1/3 of the battery (each trip) in terms of kWh. (only regenerated like 2 kWh during each drive) I'm still not sure what all it takes into consideration (ex: drive style/history) when showing the estimated range. I just got a software update for the cluster that now also shows the high and low remaining range estimates on that screen. I think I've only driven it down below 20% once, so it's hard to say how much faster it will lose range under 50%.

It will automatically lock. If you flip the lever on the back to disable the auto lock function, I don't believe you can lock it from the keypad. At least not without using a physical key.

Was at this for awhile. Got a 2ft breaker bar and a 1/2 socket. I put a 2x4 in the blade to stop the rotation. This was far more effective than the stopper button. Came off easily with that approach
@franklylivin4 ай бұрын
In our case, the blade wasn't turning, so 2x4 wouldn't help. The bolt was turning independent from the blade, but never came out.

Yeah, it should be that easy as long as you leave the car on and don't open the driver door. If you don't hold OK, it may switch to Park automatically if you turn the car off and/or open the door. (not likely to do either in carwash)

Curious how it did in snow. Our AWD ev9 was beast
@franklylivin5 ай бұрын
Seemed fine. I used the "snow" mode, but not sure what that actually does since it's only RWD. When turning sharply (like around the cul-de-sac), it did feel like the front end "skipped" a bit as I think the front wheels were sliding while being pushed from the rear rather than pulling the weight of the car. Never drove through very deep snow. (only couple inches on road on any given day)
