I think this is the best POV video I've ever seen. Add the commentary, and the tips Pat is sharing in the comments section, and you got yourself the best trials channel out there 👍

@@FactoryONE_Motorsports kzbin.info/www/bejne/fWXOgn6Hn8asr7M Great memories, I miss trials and the entire Smage family. Some health issues forced me off the two wheel machine for the rest of my life. Trials and tight woods riding were my favorite. I will be following you and RYP forever. Stay healthy, hope to see you this summer at an event. Dieseljo

Pat please, use some shield when riding, specially if you ride on your own. You never know where a bad stone may hit your ribs/spine. I always use a hebo vest with flexible protections, and I can´t even climb a 1 meter high rock.

@@FactoryONE_Motorsports I´m getting old, I watch your skills and my first thought is, "Damn, Pat is doing all those crazy things without a vest", I feel like a grandma, next thing will be: Did he have a good breakfast? Seriously, I love your videos, I´m 46 and love trials since I was a kid. Now is when I am learning what I always wanted to do, and although I´m spanish, I find your videos incredibly good for learning. We appreciate you to explain the gear you use, how to slip/pop the clutch when needed, how to use the brake... both of you are great Pat & Hannah.

Thanks, l am thinking about this machine and both views are important to see how rough the terrain is. Do you like the bike, and how much do they weigh. MERRY Christmas to you all who who ride. P.s. telling us the gear you are going to use is gold because these bikes are so different and it gives me a better idea.👋👋

Total newb here, do trials bikes have a rekluse on them? I see you aren't using your clutch at all. Or is it just hard to see on camera? Awesome video.
@FactoryONE_Motorsports
@FactoryONE_Motorsports 5 жыл бұрын
No rekluse, the clutch is actually constantly being used. It is just a very small movement and the engagement is quite a bit away from the handlebar.Look very closely! Thanks! -Pat

We used to ride the badland all the time on the dirt bikes. Now i wanna go back with my trials bike. Fun video to watch. Thanks for sharing. Now for my silly question: Do you change oil and gas ratios when trail riding vs. At a trials event? Some old timer said we should do this for trail riding. I'm pretty easy on the bike when trail riding. I don't want a sticky pison for holding wfo too much.
@FactoryONE_Motorsports
@FactoryONE_Motorsports 5 жыл бұрын
It is a great spot! We always use the same oil ratios, 1.6 oz to the gallon with Maxima K2. If you are just trail riding to get to the trials riding there is no need to change it as it would likely load up riding trials with more oil. Trials bikes are not meant for long extended periods wide open, but they can handle quite a bit. If you are just cruising with some short wide open bits, there is nothing to worry about. It is actually good to hold it wide open in 5th for a short time to burn out the exhaust a bit on older bikes.

Good vid as always what do you think to bike Iam finding clutch completely different to my 18
@FactoryONE_Motorsports
@FactoryONE_Motorsports 5 жыл бұрын
The clutch on the Factory and on the standard Racing models are different. The Factory has a softer pulling clutch which does react slightly slower. Not noticeable for most riders but our Pro riders will likely run the stiffer/faster setup. The 18's were stiffer/quicker but for the average rider that is not as necessary.

Hi pat. Love your videos. Running commentary is great. I have a 250 19 scorpa and Im unsure what gears to use. What would your recommend for slow and tech to fast climbs and slippery stream.here in Wales uk
@FactoryONE_Motorsports
@FactoryONE_Motorsports 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Tough to say without seeing your sections and style. Slippery streams are typically 2nd unless you need 3rd for more speed and power up for a hill or if its very slick. 1st works if its very tight and stop and hop, but 2nd is usually smoother when slick. Don't be afraid to try them all when practicing and see which suits your style best. -Pat

break in you never got it out of 2nd gear if I were breakin in even a trials bike which are slow compared tp other bike's but I would take it out almost like an endure and break it in that way go threw all the gears etcetc let it fully cool down do it again do that for a day or 2 should be nicely broken in
@FactoryONE_Motorsports
@FactoryONE_Motorsports 5 жыл бұрын
Trials bikes are a bit different and everyone has a different method. The title was also more of a figure of speech, not a how to break in a bike video. It was ran through all the gears though!
