Thanks for your honest review. Your approach of using the FM8s as speaker stands is totally doable. In fact, I'm personally using a pair of E22s as speaker stands for my Revel's M106s speakers. If you need to rise the speakers up a bit, then you should consider getting a pair of IsoAcoustics speaker stands. That's what I did to rise up my M106s to ear level.

Yeah I've done the same on top of my Rel's. I can attest it works well. I can have it tilted slightly toward my ear level. No vibration transfer. It helps to align the sound. It behaves as one unit.

I'm surprised the FM8 outperformed the Rel's. Congrats you found a match for your room. With my dual T/9x I had to turn it down to 10clicks for each in my basement 18x24. I too have the ATC SCM 19's its a Great combo in my room.

My sub output is controlled by the ARC Genesis DSP, but all subs used so far seem to end up at fairly low volume setting (10 o'clock ish) to EQ the room and match those ATCs. etc. I don't know if "outperformed" is the right word, but preferable sounding to my ears, if that makes sense.

@@willbrink FM8 certainly seems to be designed the "right" way it may be even more articulate than the Rel's since it has no passive radiator. Rhythmic are usually always a smart buy.

I have no experience with ML subs, so can't really advise there. In my experience, companies that specialize in subs tend to make better subs for the $ than those who don't.

I said a plenty actually. Do you want objective measurements? I don't own the gear for that. As a science type, I'm all about objective data. My go to YT channels for that are audio science review, Erin's Audio Corner, and audioholics for hard measurements if that's what you're looking for.
