2 years prior, Shindo had Kiryu, who had only recently gotten out of jail and was beyond rusty, surrounded by some of Nishikiyama's best men to take him down. Almost all of them were armed with blades of various sizes... and Kiryu beat them all down. Now 2 years later Kiryu had almost all that rust polished off, and Shindo tries to take him on *by himself*. What the fuck was he thinking?

vante2 for me, fighting him in Kiwami felt like fighting a typical grunt that couldn't lose his weapon. He most likely trained more with his katana and assumed it would be easier to kill Kiryu. Guess not.

It’s crazy how this series turned from classic arcade beat em up to cinematic masterpiece type gameplay. I’ve been a fan of this series since the 5th grade and now I finished my first year of college. Sheesh

Goro Harumichi98 I like how the core of the gameplay, even tho the style of animations has changed, it is still the same arcade beat em up goodness. Part of me will miss the 1-5 feel of the combat but it’s hard to deny that they’ve hit a real excellent balance between flashy cinematography and genuinely involving cathartic gameplay.

And then under kanda nishikis clan was at it's lowest, and after kandas death nishikis clan ceased to exist? Like what the hell happened, it just disappeard all of a sudden, anyway Koji Shindo is a worthy successor to the nishikis clan and his trustworthy right hand man. I wished that Arase would takeover and become a 4th head of the Nishikis family.

Apparently Arase was disgraced after the events of the first game and eventually left the family (which then lead to him starting the Avengers you fight in 3). And yes, with Kanda's death, the Nishikiyama Family officially disbanded, it would seem, probably got absorbed into other families or left the Tojo Clan entirely.

Sucks about Copyright slaps. While this song is good, sad they didn't remix "The Grudge" (and a few other themes) for this fight. It fit the battle better while this feels more Ishin like...it does have the cool sword QTE

Koji Shindo wants to avenge his boss' death on Kazuma Kiryu for killing his boss Akira Nishikiyama and making the Nishikiyama family fall apart. There was another Nishikiyama family member Kazuto Arase, who was in Yakuza Dead Souls. I wonder what happened to him. All I know he was defeated by Kiryu in Yakuza Kiwami 1. But, do they have a side quest in Yakuza 6 about the last member of the Nishikiyama clan? Like "The Last Nishikiyama". Kiryu defeats the last member of his deceased ex-kyodai turned villain who he defeated and stole everything from him. And he was just no match for Kiryu. A guy who wanted to revive the Nishikiyama clan all in the name of the late patriarch, Akira Nishikiyama. And the last Nishikiyama would just give up.
