I have never ever seen RSM attempt this many bankhand shots and have this much success like this before in all the matches I've seen. Usually his, tpb success isn't very high...

He is very familiar with Oh's playing style so he adjusted accordingly

TPB isn’t meant to win a point but rather to prepare for a forehand shot afterwards.

@@empireentertainmentevents1353It's the shakehand player who's supposed to benefit the most because he can exploit the positional advantage. RSM's serve-receive game was negated and still beat him in the open rallies which is crazy 'cause OSE had great defence and counter attack skills.

The awkward moment as a penholder when you play someone that knows you all too well, you gotta rely on everything but your signature moves to win. This match probably pushed Ryu harder than the Olympic finals. Backhand flick, backhand loops, defense and lobs, deep backspin pushes followed by counterattack, Ryu showed us that he's more than just lightning fast footwork and killer forehands.

Oh Sang was more difficult opponent to him than 2004 Wang Hao 'cause Wang didn't have defensive-counter attacking abilities.

good on RSM to allow OSE to conitue to play, otherwise, it would've beena automatic DQ
