Punishing your greed/hesitation in an arguably unfair and unexpected way BUT without killing you and still allowing you to get the 1ups anyway and win after another platforming challenge set to the N64 Slide. Way more creative than shooting a fish into your face or inserting a kaizo block in the middle of nowhere.

Completely agree. I find trolls like that where it's a bit of added stress but not life ending to be enjoyable. On the flip side I hate the ones where you get to a troll where you have to do the added work just to be able to die instead of reset the most.

For the ski instructor, Ryu missed the easy way of doing it. Throw the snowball early so it bounces off the spring up and over to the note block.

So, is there any reason whatsoever for the p-blocks blocking the pipe at 21:44? Usually, that's to prevent a p-switch from being active during a later section when it would break things or allow cheese, but I don't think there's any p-block, brick, or coin block between that pipe and the end of the level. So why make the player sit there and wait?

They probably either saw it in another level and used the concept without understanding why, or they had plans for the following room they ended up scrapping. It looks odd and unfinished compared to the rest of the level, so they may have just given up on whatever they were gonna work on for that room

Chaos 0 climbs streetlamps where you can't hit him before coming back down, the Egg Hornet fires at you and eventually slams into the ground where you can hit it, Boom Boom is Knuckles, the icicles are the lily pads for Chaos 4, the MechaKoopas are the flight sequence where you shoot the Egg Carrier, the Koopaling with the "bad" sound is E-102 Gamma, you throw Bob-Ombs into the blue pipes like how you throw Eggman's things at Chaos 6, and the Wiggler in the clown car is the Egg Viper!

Wasn't janky at all, he was just playing it wrong... They give you SMB2 mushroom, -you're supposed to throw a snowball at the spring and have it bounce and hit the noteblock. All that stuff he was doing with the goomba (and dying) was unnecessary.- EDIT: looks like I was wrong. After testing it out myself, the spring bounces the snowball a block too high and a block too far... Still, he could have thrown the goomba.

@@sd-ex9je been a bit since I've played SMM2 so I just fired it up and rebuilt the scenario to confirm and I concede: I was wrong. Based on appearance, it looks like it could be done that way (and I guess I'm surprised he didn't try, at least in the edited video, which would have shut me up), but the spring bounces the snowball a block higher and a block further than where it would need to land to hit the noteblock. Anyway, he still ignored the SMB2 power up and could have picked up and thrown the goomba. On an unrelated note... just a heads up that typing like that makes you seem dumb. Not trying to be mean or anything, but people are much less likely to take you seriously when you're not even forming complete and coherent sentences. How about this: you take that advice to heart, and in return, I will make sure I double check I'm correct before coming in with hot takes like that. Deal?
