In the first level, you were supposed to use the fire flower to get the shellmet, use the shellmet to get the boot (boot slams let you out of the boot room), and then use all of the above to get the spring and complete the main world.

An explanation for the first level: One POW would have been enough to see what was in the launcher in the boot room. It probably was more POWs, which would let you kill the Thwomps to get the boot. It also would allow you to leave the room. If you get the spring _after_ doing all the rooms, you'll have a boot and the spring at the same time. This way, you'll be able to leave the subworld with the boot. This, in turn, allows you to ditch the boot to get the checkpoint. From here, all the items you acquire in the subworld are available when you die.

I like it too oddly. it needs some play testing to make the objective more clear and remove the cheese ryu found. i think the doors being pick a paths weren't intended. I fully believe the creator just never thought about how player doesn't know what they knew about the order and it's only an issue because they intended for the boot to be used to leave the room where you obtained it.

7:56 you were supposed to use the shellmet to get the boots (thwomps wouldn't be able to damage you), ground pound with the boot to clear the munchers for the cannon which probably spit out something you could use to get out of the door with, and then use the boot to jump up to the checkpoint.

sometimes I hate not being able to comment live lol . 1st level wasn't terrible. would be better if they numbered the doors so you would know the order. or maybe even simplify it and have each room lead to the next section. making it a pick a door is bad design. anyway order is fireflower door, helmet door, boot door. fireflower is the only door that can be completed initially, it's needed to get helmet and the helmet protects you as you try to leave with boot. use boot to kill munchers and free the cannon which i assume shoots a pow to so you can leave. spring last so you can exit with the boot. then jump off boot to reach checkpoint.

re: the run killer, I think the problem was he was releasing the beetle late and is trying for the max jump. If he releases the beetle early, it will bounce earlier, hence he won't need a max jump

That first level was not so difficult to figure out. You get the fireflower and the pow, use that to get the shelmet and use that to get the boot. If you have the shelmet you can just get the boot without worrying about the thwomps
