In my state, Florida, the cost to insure a Model Y is almost double that of the Mach E. I think the insurance companies are catching on.

I almost used the exact same KZbin resources you referred to, CleanerWatt, DennisCW, etc. and I picked up my MYAWD on 28th (ordered on 4th) with same spec as yours in SoCal. Almost identical journey lol, enjoyed it so far 😊

Insurance implication is such a good callout, locked in my insurance quote before the data starts to accumulate 😅. But I do hope the active safety of Tesla overall kind of offsets the repair difficulty a bit.

My EDD never changed. It seems mine isn't normal? Mine is not a recalled car but that doesn't mean later batches didn't have problems 🤷‍♂️

@@RyuMoto I just saw your other video...I think by the Tesla advisor changing your car to another was the trick to getting your car quicker. There's a lot of us with TBD for the last 3 weeks. You are the only person on youtube with a recent delivery of a 4680.

how is the acceleration? I test drove a LR and it had plenty of speed..wondering if you can notice the .2 second less 0-60 if you drove a LR. Thanks

If you can notice 0.2 secs you need to work for NASA or something. No normal human can distinguish that. Speed is same as LR for all intents and purposes

That was an early assumption but it seems Munro debunked that. That doesn't mean Tesla isn't holding back some though. Only time will tell. What I can say is that the early buyers from 6 months ago show no battery degradation

@@RyuMoto I haven't checked Munro's video yet. Is he basing it on Gen 1 4680 model Y or the 2023 MY. The weight of MYLR and 2023 MY are more or less same.

So I like ice engines as that’s what I grew up with, am familiar with, I suppose my comfort zone My wife wants a Tesla for its clean look. Thursday, 2 days ago, I saw the base MYSR with the 4680, so I reserved it, did all the paperwork last 2 days, and scheduled delivery day on Monday, 2 days from now, basically getting one from start to finish in 4 days. Now hearing how long it typically takes, it makes me nervous why this one was available immediately. I’m in the Bay Area. For someone who’s been driving all his life on ice cars, any tips on making this transition? Any concerns on the 4680 longevity? Thanks for sharing your thoughts and knowledge.

Said to be a 2 million mile battery. Most find the switch to electric propulsion a substantial improvement. Acceleration, power, quiet, smoothness, simplicity, no maintenance, no gas pumping. I have 2 Teslas, totally satisfied.

Tesla has disabled acceleration boost for this 4680 MY version. I wonder why. Hope this will be offered in future. Time will tell.

Probably can't discharge that fast or they're playing it safe... Or they want to save that feature for higher options for customers willing to pay for higher trims. Not anything new in my eyes.

Tesla has been real quiet about the 4680 battery for a while now, it seems to me you can’t get much range out of it and they’re not putting it and all of the verticals. Why?🤔 It’s because they still ain’t got there sh*t together.
