When I worked for a Telco in D.C. I saw a lot of underground utility tunnels and Crystal City public area and restricted areas and the Metro and M2. During the Obama administration upgrades were done to the COG tunnels and new tunnels were dug using tunnel boring machines. New M3 high speed evacuation tunnels and trains were installed. A large portion of the streets were closed and wooden walls and ceilings were put over the streets to hide the excavation. When you look back at the original map of D.C. the existing rivers had the neighboring land dug out about 30 feet below ground. A brick tunnel was built to replace each natural stream and river and create new underground rivers. The rivers were dammed to stop water from flowing in the original rivers. The rivers were filled in. These new tunnels were not random. They were put in specific locations to serve as the sewer system for the government buildings. These rivers ran under the Capitol and the White House and other old buildings. In addition to the rivers serving as sewers, there are walking tunnels that connect the sub basements of the old original buildings. It is possible to travel under D.C. from building to building. But it is only allowed to be accessible by certain White House and Congress personnel. Famously, a photo of Marylin Monroe entering one of these tunnels that led to the White House. JFK had a lot of his girlfriends go through these tunnels. There were many stories of Secret Service agents having to hurry the women down to the basement tunnels as Jackie came in. There was a plan to reroute underground rivers and eliminate any way for the rivers to get under these buildings. I don't know if they did that work. It was planned in 2008. But I don't know what happened after that. When the DPW was working in one of the underground rivers the team got lost. They were not sure where they were, and they climbed up a ladder to a manhole and popped the manhole open and stuck their head out, and a team of Secret Service agents had their guns pointed at them. After this event in the late 90s they welded that manhole shut. And the most classified underground facilities that one was shown in an X-Men movie, under the Pentagon, is a nuclear reactor. There are supposedly 3 working nuclear reactors. But there were more over the years that were taken out of service. These are sodium or other types that don't require the water and cooling towers that you normally see. So they can stay hidden Several bunkers, like RRMC that houses NAMCC has a reactor like this They actually have a large underground reservoir of water for the reactor that powers this location. Also known as Site R. Incredibly each site has a letter. Site M is under GCT in NYC Camp David, Mt. Weather, and other sites also have reactors. I have heard from reliable people that there are landing strips in mountains and they have huge doors disguised to look like the mountain side. These are called XO strips or airports They can only be accessible by flying in Several people have told me the same story of watching either E4B or AF1 fly into the mountain runway during national emergencies. I watched a new facility built using tunnel boring machines and they dug out 6000 feet a week. The official story was that they were using the machines to build a new highway. But they were never used for the highway. It is amazing that I this day the government can still hide so much

I lived in the metro DC area most of my life. Just a few corrections. Wheaton Metro Station is actually not in DC; it's in Maryland in Montgomery County. Wheaton is very close to downtown Silver Spring which borders DC. I've actually ran up the escalator at Wheaton Station twice. Boy did my legs feel the burn. Lol. Forrest Glen is also in Maryland in the Silver Spring area. Another thing is that this video made it look like Dupont Circle is right where the Washington Monument is. Dupont Circle is in a different part of DC. It's cool finding out about that tunnel. Yet, do be careful in Dupont Circle. Unless it's cleaned up since I've lived in the DC area, it was not known for uh.....family friendliness. I had a really bad experience there. Not a good memory. It's not completely bad there, but be cautious. Although I had lived in the DC area for a long time (I was born in DC) and explored some really wonderful places that I absolutely love in DC, there were things in this video I didn't know. I miss DC a lot and hope to go back for some visits really soon, God willing. One thing not mentioned here that I'm not sure how many know is that there actually is a museum inside the Jefferson Memorial. If you go up the steps and look to your right (I think), you'll see an elevator. Take it down and you'll enter into the museum part. It's really cool! There are also bathrooms there if you need them. May this comment be helpful! God bless y'all!

Bobby: USA uses double entry bookkeeping. The National Debt is only an artifact of double entry bookkeeping. There is no line of creditors who have been unpaid for years or decades. USA government bills are current to business standards of 30 to 90 day accounts payable. If USA switched to single entry bookkeeping, the National Debt would vanish. Most nations use single entry bookkeeping. USA has T-Bill and I-Bill investors. What the video quotes is the amount of T-Bill s and I-Bill s invested in by foreigners and others. The interest is about 1% of GDP each year. During the Trump administration, the Covid stimulus package distributed $1.3 million. However, the USA NEVER printed or coined that money. The USA federal government merely sent financial institutions a deposit memo, telling them they were permitted to increase their balances by a specified amount. The financial institutions were happy to increase their balances records. No money bags ever followed those notifications of deposits.

@@rosewoodsteel6656 That's Tiber Creek, which used to be an actual tidal creek on the surface. It was then turned into a canal running where Constitution Ave is today, and then ultimately buried under the road, but the water still needs to flow somewhere, so they put it underground. The history and architecture is fascinating and as an American, I have a strong reverence for all of the buildings and documents, the history and historical implications around Washington DC and I'd like to visit and see all of these things someday - _but_ it's also kind of sad. It seems like DC has become such a corrupt and violent cesspool. Maybe it doesn't make sense to people from outside the US - maybe we look hokey, overly-sentimental, overly-patriotic, blindly loyal, ignorant, propagandized, etc. But it is what it is; collectively, our history, foundation/founders, foundational principles, documents, monuments, buildings, relics etc. - regardless how much they've been skewed, perverted and disregarded through the years - is still almost like a secular or secondary religion to us. I can even admit that as a pretty fundamentalist Christian. It doesn't supplant God but our country, history and foundation sit just below at a close second. That being said, I know you can say various things about the beliefs, actions and/or intentions of the founders or how we've diverged from our principles and how the government has usurped powers they were never meant to have and how corrupt things are/have been and how our government has tried to take over and/or subjugate most of the world and how our intelligence agencies mettle in foreign affairs and overthrow governments and so on - and even the most patriotic can see and admit these things and we lament them - but what we remain so reverent of, and loyal to, are not the politicians, bureaucrats and unaccountable agencies, but the ideas behind those foundational concepts. And most Americans - especially those most fond of our original core intentions and unadulterated values - are unsettled over what has become of our capital city, our government and politicians, our foundational principles and the system as a whole - the greed/money in politics, the rot and corruption, overreach, policies we disagree with (especially diplomacy and foreign policy), the perversion of at least what we perceive to have been the intention, etc. It's all so sad, disturbing, depressing and discouraging - and on those lines, I would be kind of hesitant to visit.

Thank you for your very true and heartfelt words. I grew up close to DC but went there often. Field trips, holidays, family outings. Edit: I don't mean to imply I saw anything but a few sub-sub-basement warehouses that were rumored to have been cut for Vietnam or WWII or older or by bootlegers or old, forgotten cemetaries.

@@Bea.Sted. Because I live here. The area Washington chose for the capital is actually, geologically speaking, on a fall line. This is where the geology transitions from coastal to Piedmont. The National Mall, the Capitol and the White House are in the "coastal" zone (at sea level) but once you leave the area you are in hilly and wooded terrain. The idea of a swamp is probably leftover from the 1800s and referred to an area that was marshland but was filled in around 1900 and is now where the Lincoln Memorial is.
