He's using the 4090 @1080p to ensure that the GPU isn't doing the heavy lifting, and the added stress is put onto the CPU. This test is showcasing the CPUs. Nothing else. There are many videos on R57500f RTX4070, R55600x RTX4070 builds if all you're looking at is the FPS counter. Great video, BTW! 👊

Great demonstration of the difference, thanks. The 7500f feels like the sensible entry into AM5, however I usually play at 1440p high/ultra and my current 5600x rarely bottlenecks at those settings. (GPU is 6800XT btw) Aside from some heavily CPU intensive titles, like Baldur's Gate 3 in the city, I still feel like it is a balanced system in most situations for now. If I was playing some shooters more seriously where the difference between 90 vs 160 fps matters, I would probably switch. But at this point, I still feel like it's fine for my games. Sorry for the long explanation, hopefully my comment could be helpful for someone considering this upgrade :)

Sure there is a difference with a 4090, but can you test it with something people are actually likely to own? 4070, 7700XT, etc

Exactly this comparatives must be done with something like 4070. Also many people play in 2K there's the is interesting test to do.

Sorry guys, but the ideia on the video is right, u must test with lower resolution and higher GPU, to ensure that it dont bottleneck, so u can take this results and apply on ur config, u can pair with ur 4070 or something else, u can play in 2K, but u are sure that a processor X can generate Y FPS on a game Z, compared to a processor XZ! You got it? There is another type of comparisons on the internet doing what u are saying, but the purpose on this video is to test only the CPU power.
