I have the 7600 because they're at MicroCenter with the cooler for $180. Have had no problems with the stock cooler in my ITX build, no noise, no high thermals. If you're buying your cpu online, get the 7600x because it's the same price, sometimes lower than the 7600. Edit: coincidentally a day later I was playing an intense game and my computer shut itself off due to high temperature, but I think it was the gpu's fault

Since the x is only slightly faster unless you're going to be over clocking I'd personally go with the 7600 and get the cooler included, two birds and all that.

@@swaggergod811 I thought this already posted and responded shortly after I saw your message. I will give you as much detail as I can. I ended up building 2 PCs and each a little different. For my first and main build I with the 7600x and 6700xt I got the "ASRock B650M PRO RS AM5 AMD SATA 6Gb Micro ATX Motherboard", "G- Skill Flare X5 series AMD EXPO 32GB RAM", "Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 CPU Air Cooler, 6 Heatpipes, Dual 120mm," Cooler Master MWE Gold 850W V2 Full Modular, "Silicon Power 1TB NVme PCle Gen3 v4 M.2 SSD,'" and the BitFenix NOVA MESH SE ARGB Edition Case, Black Body and black mesh with tempered side panel Micro ATX. For other PC I combined the Intel i5-13600k and I know Nvidia is supposed to sync better with Intel but couldn't pass on a good deal for the Radeon RX 6650 XT as that just scored better than the GTX 1660 Super and I didn't want to drop the money on a newer RTX GPU. I paired it all with a tough Gaming Z790-PLUS WIFI Motherboard.

You don't need this box cooler on 7600. It is a really thin, fully aluminium cooler that will cause throttling with PBO +200 and -35 curve.

I’m just starting my build, still trying to pick the parts I want. The 7600 is a year newer and it draws on average 40 watts less power, yet achieves less than 1% difference of the 7600x according to many benchmark vids I’ve seen. That being said, the 7600 makes more sense and is probably less of a headache because it runs at lower watts and temps. Just my opinion and my reasoning for being the one I’m most likely to get.

​​​​​@@ghareeb2332 I am on Deepcool LE520. Good for gaming. Temps don't go beyond 82°C but most of the time it stays below 80°C while gaming in 4K with every setting maxed out. For productivity, I have no idea because in summer, during video compression by handbrake, the temperature hit almost 97°C or 100°C just for a sec before instantly falling down to 95°C. But now it's monsoon and the temperature remains always below 95°C while performing the same task given that 7600X hitting 95°C is not something to be afraid of because as AMD said, 'It's by design'.

Basically, go for whichever one is cheaper. If they're the same price, go for the 7600X provided you have a good power supply and a separate CPU cooler. 7500F is also an option if you already have a discrete GPU. The performance difference should be minimal. So price is the best factor here.

Dude at Micro Center kept trying to upsale me to get the X when i went to grab parts for my new build. It was the most obnoxious experience. what would you recommend for ark ascended 1440p high settings if you can't get the 6800xt because the price just doubled? (leery about buying used GPUs) seems the obvious answer is the 7800xt if the price holds but I saw "building my whole life" and couldn't help but to ask. is there a better CPU than the 7600/x if you can't afford the am5 x3d variants? I considered staying on am4 and going 5700x3d for that L3 cache paired with 16gb vram. still might concerning prices. even though that's basically EOL for am4. anyway, advice is appreciated.

You forgot that the GPU performance of the 7600 is better than with the 7600X ( whereas the opposite holds true for the 7700 and 7700X ).

​@@diamonshade7484 The Zen 4 design of the initial Ryzen 7000 still is somewhat immature showcasing quite a few peculiarities because of this. Among those are weird performance/watt ratios, sudden steep TDP drops, little advantage for higher models and weird performance ratings of the integrated GPU. If for instance checking the PassMark Videobenchark Rating, you can see that the 7950X has 3x the GPU performance of the 7950X3D - almost 1080p gaming level. All 7xy0X3D sit at about the same GPU performance level of the early Vega APUs - Office Level, 720p gaming at best. And the 7600's GPU is about 13% faster than the 7600X's, while the 7700's GPU is about 26% slower than the 7700X's .

@@ironv8121 ... you start to care once you realize that every bit counts in a range where you barely manage to play videos at a decent framerate. I once tried the 2400G since I had a separate gaming setup, and was rather underwhelmed. I won't even mention what happend at 1440p ( 3440x1440 ). Those RDNA 2 do better, but at that level of performance you need to know that even a simple Office PC with a little gaming is a serious stretch.

@@ironv8121 You are right. I don't own a Zen 4 for that very reason. Be mindful of the Ryzen 8x00G though: The GPU performance isn't exactly great nor is the price, not to mention you compromise regarding available PCIe lanes and their generation.

Basically, if you're doubting which one of the two you want, just try to see if the prices are close to each other. If the x is way higher than the normal one, remember that you will get a low extra value for a high price.

I thought too in that way, but think about it. With the stock cooler you max the temps of the 7600 (which is 95°c). So unless you do light task and you check in those temps often, take a decent tower cooler, like a peerless assassin 120, it's around 35$.

7600X. 4.7GHz base clock speeds is pretty nuts (on paper) and the two CPUs generally cost about the same. Wouldn't use the stock cooler with the 7600 anyways.

Generally don't buy the 4060, just buy something like the rx 6700 xt that is only 20-30 dollars more expensive and gives WAY more performance. The rtx 4060 is not that great for price to performance and is only slightly better than the slightly cheaper rtx 3060. You can pair it up with a ryzen 5 5600 / 5600x for AM4 or ryzen 5 7600 / 7600x for AM5. The x doesn't really matter as said in the video, just get whatever's cheaper.

7600 is great for a budget build. Just built a 7600 pc for my buddy with an Asus x670 board, 32gb ram, and tossed in his old 1070. Not bad for less than 800.

You avoid the most important thing, the 7600x is factory unlocked for Overclock and is easier to reach higher clock speeds with the overclock, while the 7600 isn't, so, if you don't gonna overclock the cpu, pick the 7600, the thing is bc of the cooler, often they are at the same price in many stores

Actually I watched multiple videos from Zach and other creators as well and it isn't really an Nvidia vs AMD thing as both can perform very well and very bad and they came to the conclusion that it's all about the settings you are using

I got the 7600 thinking I’ll save some money with the stock cooler. Nope. My CPU was constantly at 95C and my fan was at max speed super loud. Had to get a thermal assassin fan

I have an optiplex 3020 and decided to give it a good clean. After applying thermal paste to the CPU and assembling the pc back, i get an amber blinking light when install ram in one of the two slots. (The pc has two ram slots and the ram is working fine evidenced by it working in the second slot)
