If your building a new pc the 9600x would be a good pick but I don't think I would upgrade if I had a 7600 or 7600x

I couldnt agree more. I currently have a i5 9600k with a RX 5600 XT and I'm looking for a good upgrade. I'm taking a RTX 4070 Super as a GPU but I was wondering if I'm taking a Ryzen 5 7600 or a 9600X as a CPU. 7600 is cheaper and work almost as good as the 9600X. But the 9600X seems to be slightly better and more futur-proof for 80€ more.

No, 7600 is enough. There is no reason to buy 9600x instead of cheaper 7600x. It make sense then upgrage from 7600x to 9800x3d. 7600x can lift 4080 without bottleneck i think. In my country 9600x cost 300$ and 7600x 200$. I'd get 9600x if it cost 210 - 220$ but it there difference lika 50$. No thanks

@@kilhbffvc7011 I understand your point but if I'm changing my whole computer, why not buying the most recent CPU ? And I'm usually playing "competitive" game like Call of Duty that need high fps (I'm buy a 180Hz screen) and higher refresh rate uses a lot the CPU (the GPU too but a higher definition uses the GPU but less the CPU)

​@@Th3AnT0in3 It depend of Graphics Card. If you hava 4090 then you can have 5700x and get 300fps+. And it also depend of setting in game. If you'd like to play with Ultra in 4K then you need to wait for 5090. But if you use medium setting in 2k you enough 4070 Super with 7500F in Online Game like CS GO and Call Of Duty. Of course if you have a 4090 i can suppose you have a money and our conversation is useless.For example I have 7900xt with 12600k and there won't be significant different if i'd have 12700k or 12900k the same with AMD. Sorry for awful english. P/S you have a AM5 Soket soo you don't need to changing whole PC just processor

@@kilhbffvc7011 ok ok. I'm still hesitating. But for example my current PC have i5 9600k, 16Go 3200MHz, RX 5600XT. And I plan to buy 4070 Super, Ryzen 5 7600 or 9600X, with 32Go at least 6000MHz.
