Never had an american models train do that. Either your transformer has some incompatablity, or the engine wheels just need a good cleaning (or the track need cleaned). They do get a tad fussy after they get gunked up. But then all flyers do. Hope this helps.

Unfortunately, I'm not 100% sure what you are referring to with your first sentence. If you could be more specific as to "What 'that' is" I could better address your comments. For now, I will attempt to guess that you are referring to the locomotive making a lot of noise by blowing the horn and whistling quite often. All of your suggestions COULD BE Correct. The most likely answer could be incompatibility with the transformer I was using which is a Lionel transformer (possibly pictured in the video). The video is about a year old too and it has been a while since I have seen it myself. However, the tracks are not that dirty as they were cleaned shortly before I began taking videos that day. Additionally, the wheels on the locomotive were not that dirty either. I have removed most of the videos that I recorded that day because many of the locomotives have sold. This coming weekend will be another Train Show. Although I doubt there will be an S scale layout present, if there is, I will attempt to run the locomotive on an S scaler's layout using whatever transformer they are using to run their own trains, provided it isn't the same transformer that I was using. Thanks for the suggestions. I spoke with the manufacturer and they couldn't offer an explanation either.
