Also! Espar make a part to have the diesel heater pickup lower in the tank with the aux fuel tap so it doesnt cut out at 1/3 (or apparently higher than the OEM tank?). Any chance you put that in? "Eberspacher Fuel Sender Kit 29.2180.01.0565"

The biggest time suck on this project was me having to climb up and out from under the van so many times doing it solo and relocating our Espar pump. It would help to have another set of hands to hand tools under the van or guide the filler neck in and out of the cavity on lifting and dropping the tank.

@GlennLaguna I had to go into California a few months ago, I must have went to 5 stations looking for #2 diesel, I had to jump on YT to figure out if r99 was safe to put in my truck, never seen synthetic fuel before, ot actually ran good though, where I live we just run off highway fuel that I pay 2 bux a gallon for from " A guy"

Very helpful. Did you consider the larger fill nozzle upgrade? I may do that just so I can use the truck stop pumps and fill the larger tank more quickly.

Great video. I am curious: what did this do to your dashboard readouts for distance until empty? Is there a code for updating the system to know you've almost doubled the fuel capacity? I see the link you dropped but I'm too lazy to click it, but not too lazy to write this 😑

Unfortunately there is no solution for the dashboard read out only for the gauge showing the correct amount left with J51 which reads level from the float. If you have a cargo van with the aux tap this is usually already included. For the readout It’s essentially double what it says… it’s pretty lame that Mercedes won’t play ball here as it’s probably one variable in the software.

@montelwill7705 Make sure you add a bigger vent line alongside it, or you'll be there cussing the van for not taking it fast enough, the pump will keep kicking off, ask me how I know
