I use Beadsmith Craft Wire - Tarnish Resistant Gold, Silver and Copper wires but I’ve noticed when I hammer out the gold the gold coating always flakes off, do you have any tips for helping the coating to stay on? It ruins the piece if the hammered bit looks silver 😞🙈

If you need to hammer the wire. The good choice is the wire without the coating. You can use the opper wire and silver wire.

@@SuzyWongStudio how do you prevent copper from turning your skin green? Especially if I want to sell pieces of Jewelry I’ve made? I use Stirling solve and gold filled for ear wires but all other jewellery is made from copper base

@@mahk4374 copper doesn't turn your skin green if you care for it properly. Also if you Antique it, it has already gone through the oxidation process in a controlled way and will need less maintenance... There's alot to explain but it's really too much to do here unfortunately. I suggest doing more research on how copper is cared for. It's the PH of people's skin that turns it green. Just wipe your sweat off the piece after wearing every day and it won't turn "green" or have it antiqued ahead of time. I have sold thousands of copper pieces with zero complaints because I provide proper care instructions

@@amberm2777 yes I have done more research into metals and how it reacts to everyone skin differently. Some people have higher ph levels causing a lot of different metals to turn your skin green. Thanks 😊
