Great video Chris. Shame you didn’t have a scope camera on your rifle to see what you were shooting at, with so many deer there but great watching and happy new year to you and the team. 🍾👍

Shooter from Queensland Australia. Game taken are feral pigs but mainly Red Deer. As mentioned previously that we use projectiles that expand in the chest cavity and do not exit.. We load 180/200 gr soft nose or hollow points traveling between 3500/4000 fps and it is the shock/energy on impact that affects the instant lightning kill with little damage to the body . We reload all our rounds for the enhanced accuracy afforded our rifles. Most shooting is at first and last light out to 300 yrs dependent on wind over open fields with timberline behind. My question is do you reload and do you shoot to always exit the projectile and if so why. ??

Hi Robert, thanks for your comment. I'm shooting a 30-06 with factory Sako ammo, powerhead blade 170 grain. They usually exit on the females and young reds but not mature stags. It may not look it but our shooting is usually rushed due to the deer knowing we are there, so we aim for general chest shots at whatever angle is humane rather than a very specific location which is possible given more time and more relaxed deer shooting situations.

Can't be perfect all the time unfortunately. It's important to show where possible realistic situations rather than perfect shots.
