Enjoyed the video Gary and how challenging it looks to shoot from sticks. One thing I am noticing, not only on your video but also at the range, is that everyone seems to be shooting PCP’s. So my question is, how much more/less challenging is it to shoot a springer from sticks?

Great video Gary. If I may suggest, when you were practicing on the sticks with the yellow plate, your sticks could be a inch or two higher as you are tending to slightly crouch into the scope. This position will create tension in the upper body. As you know If you have no tension in your body you will shoot more accurately. If you watch experienced stick shooters they have correct height alignment and no tension in their upper body. One tip I use on the sticks is point the gun at the target direction but with your eyes briefly shut. Make sure you have no tension in your body, then open your eyes and see where the cross hairs are above or below the target. Readjust stick height if necessary as above. When you get used to it, it only takes a few seconds. Your scores will improve.

Try the tripods legs the other way around, two legs at the back, one in front, how I do it, might help you stability a little, great video tho Gary 👍

Thanks for the video.. I always get a laugh when you say the wife is out LOL . After that spring mishap last time in the Conservatory... Good hunting scope, But wonder how you would get along with a scope you where used to. Does anybody ever use a hard case? It is a small bull pup after all.

I'm going to put a CP on the Ghost and see how we go. There are a few who use hard cases, but it's quite rare. Most use a hard case for transport, then a slip to take around the course.

Gary ! love your videos and want a Ghost. Can i ask why you have a tiny scope on it? Im sure its great for rattin but surly a long range scope would be better for these kind of tests. BTW best hft you tuber

Truth is, the rifle was sent with the scope, so, I'm giving it a go. It's a very nice scope

Good video but you should be aware the type stick you use has problems. You cannot seem to get parts! Mine prs had two of the three bolts anchoring the top to the legs base/attachment fallen out and missing. I had to resize and tap to make do. Easier if replacements were available, just a bit of info. Like gun and bits and alteration of cg. Mike.

Have just about the same set up for some pest control. BRK Ghost and Primos Trigger stick. It still takes a lot practise and a steady hand to be accurate. Great video.

Sticks? ... i use sticks now when shooting rabbits & they are just two sticks, three looks more stable & would be tri-pod? tri something but sticks?

It was originally called Para HFT, then got changed to Stick class. They are called shooting sticks though, so it seems to make sense.

The hand stop is a great tip after seeing this I added one to my set up and went from a PB of 43 on sticks to shooting a PB of 52 👍👍❤. It has also given me the confidence to book for the first 2 rounds of the nationals UKHFTA and the Worlds

You'd do much better with a proper set of sticks. Those are way too flimsy Gary. A good solid tripod is day and night over trigger sticks.

excellent video Gary. The BroCock sure seems to be the rage these days. I have a few friends here in the USA that shoot regular FT with them and do well. It sure looks like it is well suited for Sticks Class HFT. Keep the great videos coming....

Hi Gary, I'm curious as to why you are wearing a shooting glove when shooting off sticks. It appears that you are just holding the stick with the left hand so I don't understand the advantage of wearing the glove.
@garychillingworth7 ай бұрын
Probably because I've worn one for 15years and it feels odd not too. Force of habit I think.
@richardmorris82457 ай бұрын
What do you think of the ghost for HFT, Gary? I wondered if the high scope position relative to the barrel was a disadvantage. I suppose not, ince you've learnt your holdovers?
@garychillingworth7 ай бұрын
I'm going to take the rail off and fit a CP and try it prone for regular HFT very soon.

@garychillingworth awesome. Will look out for your thoughts on that!

I really hate it when people say the wife is out. As if anyone’s wife would give a S**t that you’re 2:04 sitting in the conservatory making a video. Why do men try to pretend they are ruled by the wife, acting like a naughty school boy. Give up the comments about the wife, not funny, not convincing. Just stop it and present whatever you’re going to.
@garychillingworth7 ай бұрын
If you've watched my previous videos you will know it's a running joke. I nearly broke the window of my conservatory with a flying 98 spring, so since then it's been a bit of fun.

The bits added were there for a reason, and it was kind of PRS to loan them too me. Without the support of people like them and Brocock, it would just be me with my TX in the garden.
