In this month's episode of airgun hunting, Mick Garvey is out conducting essential pest control on a local permission.
Mick is out on a previous site, where the landowner has seen a rabbit that seems to be suffering from what he thinks is myxomatosis.
Mick heads out to check the grounds before getting on with finding this poor rabbit. Is it just the one or is it worse than the landowner thought?
Mick is out using the all new Pulsar Telos on test, and has topped his .22 Air Arms rifle with the fantastic Pulsar Duo scope, which allows you to switch between day vision and thermal at the push of a button. Perfect for this kind of job.
It's been a wet few days and standing water is everywhere, wellies maybe needed for this trip!

No worries man. It’s appreciated Mick. You shouldn’t have to apologize to these guys. I don’t think people understand the work that goes into hunting private, residential and or farm property. Not to mention the time it must have taken to record and edit all of that. Thank you for the work you guys put into it. 😁👍

Again sorry you found it boring not sure about the nonsense part though … there are many out there that have no contact with mixy and others who want info on various pieces of equipment MG

I totally agree with a walk around during the day, I once went to a farm during the day and the farmer took me out the back to a railed off area the size of a medium sized swimming pool. He said if you go in that you’re not coming out. It was his slurry pit. Very much a wake up call for night shooting.

Thanks mate it is something that is overlooked but something that needs doing … a lot of us will do it but it’s worth mentioning for the newcomers to pest control MG

Another excellent video Mick, very insightful. I think a lot of people don't realise how important it is to do a recce in daylight and gather as much info as possible before going out in darkness. Even though I've been shooting my golf course permission for a long time and I know the land well I still go out on a daylight recce now and again because it helps me identify new obstacles fences roped off areas new wooden benches the list goes on and of course the areas which need more shooting attention than others. 👍🇬🇧👍

Hi Alan … thanks for the input and sad to hear you didn’t like the vid … yes most of us are aware of the dangers around various permissions but there are some that are new to this and would benefit from others experience … I can assure you no one at SCTV think any of the viewers are numpties … as mentioned previously the original cut was over an hour so we split it into two parts … maybe in hindsight we should have had more “shots” in part 1 MG

mixy is a terrible disease such a cruel and in human thing to have done the suffering it causes to these poor rabbits, sadly it is a disease that will never go away. scientists have a lot to answer for.

I’m pretty new to the sport and find the advice and guidance really helpful. I agree with you to a certain extent about the shot count but when someone is passing on their knowledge, especially for shooting at night, it’d be crazy not to listen. I see in the reply that it quickens up in part two so we can all sit back and enjoy the footage.
