Great video, Sayf! One thing you said resonated with me in particular. That, if a doctor told you that you would sustain permanent brain damage if you took a certain number more punches, you're not sure if you'd stop boxing (or other martial arts?). I have to say that I feel the same way. Not that I definitely wouldn't stop; I'm just not sure what I'd do in that moment. I know from your videos that boxing in particular has done a lot for you, and I can also relate to that. Boxing gave me confidence in the wake of a rough childhood, and a surrogate father in my current coach. I also met the girl who I may spend the rest of my life with only because she joined my college boxing team. Besides that, being voted captain of that team by my coach and peers is something I draw confidence from every day. I'm currently working on a memoir about all of that and more, which my English professors have said that I have the talent to do...but again, I wouldn't have had the guts to do that (or compelling enough material to write about) without boxing. It's funny though. The more boxers I talk to about that, the more people I find who have been saved by the sport. One of the many reasons why I'll always be involved with it in some capacity.

great video and btw I would like to say I agree with you bout your intelligence you sound more reasonable and have more common sense than anyone I've ever met and I have a question to ask. for the past few years I've developed seizures there not really bad but I want to learn how to fight I've been in brutal fights before in life sometimes you can't get around it. should I sparr so I can learn. when I was brutally beaten up by 6 guys it didn't trigger my seizures at all I only have one trigger and that's not sleeping. I want to be able to handle myself and protect myself badly. my doctor says no punches to the head but I'd like to learn to defend myself. I just wonder you teach people how to fight do you have anybody that are in the same situation that I'm in? do you teach them by sparring or is that a big no no.

Dear friend, If your health is on the line, PLEASE do not box. If I, in any way gave the impression that I would not stop if need be, I am sorry and the mistake was all mine. Please understand, that I meant to say how much it meant to me. I exaggerated and I do not want to know you got hurt because of my inability to pick my words more carefully. Be well, Sayf
