Sayf Shares some thoughts on what makes techniques "stick" so they can be called upon when needed. NOTE : A COUPLE "BLOOPERS", BUT THE FIRST TAKE WAS BEST SO HERE IT IS.

Brilliant! I have been coming to the conclusion that a similar defensive technique should be taught first for boxing. All the slipping, blocking, and parrying seems to overload beginners. If I start them with something similar to this and get them proficient, I can reduce the anxiety they feel. This is also a very natural reaction. Big thumbs up!

Love this sort of teaching. Can't wait for the books to follow your release on the 31st. Neurology, philosophy, spirituality and science are big fascinations of mine

S Carman I've been a regular viewer of your videos for many years now, in fact since you started making videos on KZbin and your advice on the reality of street fights and sport has possible saved my life on few occasions. One example that comes to mind is about a year ago i saw a drunk thug cursing at a girl and actually punched her. Obviously seeing that I got angry and intervened. I did not physically touch the guy but I shouted from far and walked over. This was around 2am in the morning btw. At that moment I was serious about completely destroying this guy. I've been practising in mixed martial arts for around 6 years and was confident that I could beat this guy in seconds. When he saw me he started going into his waist like he was reaching for a knife .. I sensed he might just b faking to get me to back off but I remembered what you said about knife fights ( ketch up and shirt test ) and so I decided it wasn't even worth it. Blow to my ego to walk away but atleast I got him to leave the girl alone

Hello, That was a tough situation. I would have done what you did also to get him to leave the girl along. I would say always look around at your surroundings for bottles, sticks with sharp edges for example. Generally people don't want a "match" they want a victim.

TheUmmahFightCamp thanks will definitely keep that in mind. I never really consider weapons in street altercations but now that you say it it seems like common sense... luckily I've not had any where weapon such has a knife has actually been used.. I guess this is something you've probably covered in videos and I may have missed it. But I definitely admire the realistic approach you take with fighting. Training everyday and learning new techniques can give you this feeling of invincibility ( atleast again another person who doesn't train ) so hearing you sometimes reminds me that I am only human and still vulnerable ..I've had situations where its guys ( maybe 4 or so ) in groups and it's just me and again, my ego ( it seems ) would tell me I can still beat all of them at the same time. And again your videos on fighting with groups would remind me that it's not that simple and MMA does not teach me to deal with that situation. It can help if you lay out one quickly and the rest back off.. but not much if they all still decide to swarm u

Assalamualaikum 3 weeks ago you did a video the untrained fighter I've been watching some video on Triple G since there is a lot of talk about him being a good fight he's doing some amateur things he's telegraphing his punches do you think when he reach a more sharper technical fighter this is a recipe for loss?
