hands down the most informative z32 conversion. 10/10

The thicker anchor bolt on came for the 90 year. 91+ came with the thinner anchor bolt

Just finished this conversion the other day on my S13. That anchor bolt is a really snug fit, and with roughly 30 year old knuckles the holes for them had some corrosion built up so I had to sandpaper and wire wheel each knuckle for a bit before they'd go in. Even then, I still stuck a couple of washers on them then tightened the nut to completely pull them through. No risk of breaking that little tip that way. As for the spacer, I got lucky and just pulled the whole setup off a '94 Z32 2+2 I found at a Pick n Pull, the hub comes with a tab the anchor bolt rides on.

Very informative, hope you're enjoying your spring break and made a list of the parts lol, I'll need it.

Seeing all the corrosion and rust back there, the hole on the spindle probably had a lot of built up rust. I think there are some guides out there that mention that it will be a very tight fit.. In regards to why you needed a spacer... Majority of Z32 rear brakes had a setup with rear hub/bearing that had an extra ear which that anchor bolt would sit on top of. If you have that ebrake setup and don't have the the correct hub/bearing with the ear you can use proper sized washers/spacers just like you did in the video. IIRC only early production 1990 NA z32s had ebrake setups that didn't have the hub/bearing with the ear.

Wish I would have just converted to Z32 knuckles from the start to make it easier. Would’ve been lighter too.

Ordering up parts to do this on my s14. i've already got the front and rear calipers from a turbo 300zx. ISR front and rear conversion lines and the gktech 17/16 BMC. Does the z32 ebrake drum assembly differ from NA or turbo? Currently all the listings on eBay advertise it as NA. Great video btw.

So the ideal rear ebrake assembly to look for in this conversion, would be a z32 2+2 NA cause the anchor bolt in addition with the SF bracket? Hopefully I can find one easily before I just do a dual caliper set up...
@BTaylored5 жыл бұрын
NA anchor bolts for sure unless you’re using a TT Z32 hub to convert to 5 lug as well, then go with the TT bolts. You can also use r33 cables with a GKTech bracket. My StreetFaction bracket with the cables worked great.

What is the size of the rear axle pivot nut?

Your S13 to Z32 big brake video is awesome because I am doing this swap and was very apprehensive when it comes to the e-brake cable installation because I was afraid that my 2 + 2 300zx e-brake cable aren’t long enough to reach the T-bracket that connect the two e-brake cable to the e-brake handle. By the way, is the z32 T-bracket necessary for this conversion or just re-use the S13 e-brake T- bracket?
@BTaylored5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Just reuse the S13 t bracket that goes to the handle.

Did you end up putting the master cylinder? What master did you get
@BTaylored2 жыл бұрын
I still have the stock master cylinder on the car, so the brakes are a little soft. I have an aftermarket 17/16 cylinder waiting to go on the car.

Any loctite on the four hub bolts

I personally didn’t use loctite, but it certainly wouldn’t hurt if you wanted to use it.
