Excellent video!! This is the best How to for this generation of Nissan calipers. FYI: These calipers are very similar to the R32 Skyline GTR/GTST brakes. Good technique with the old brake pads (I would not use new ones lol).
@ERICSDIYGARAGE5 жыл бұрын
thank you! I appreciate your feedback. yes, the R32 are similar as well. using the old pads was alot easier in my opinion hope it helps you out.

Great job Eric! I'm in the process of doing mine and glad I found this. I was struggling with my first caliper (RR) and then realized i need to use your method of using the brake pads to keep things in place to get them BOTH out. Well done sir!

I cut off the old brake line in the rear. Now I have to get the remnants removed from the hard line connection up by the frame (not the caliper). Any tips on getting this off? Soaked it in PB blaster but it’s a beyotch. Will try heat but it’s tight in there. Any tips would be great.

Hey, great video, I wonder if anyone has discovered or figured out the correct torque for the caliper halves? there is a ton o incomplete information on this. The impact wrench method is probably putting more torque than 25 ft-lbs. I have read some detailed discussions where folks have aclauilate the value based not he bot size at between 35 and 50 ft-lbs - anyone have a better source of information?

Yes they will look it up on the nissan forms, i had a 2006 nissan Altima 3.5 and was thinking of doing this upgrade

Wow, I own a Honda crz as a daily driver and those brakes are single piston and are a million times more complex, it was easier to just buy remanufactured ones. Nissan did a damn good job on designing these.

I think it’s the rack, I’ve cleaned most everything and no leaks from the pump or hoses from what I can tell but leaks r coming from the rack. Gonna clean the rack again and check
@ERICSDIYGARAGE6 жыл бұрын
Man thats a bummer, they can be hard to replace, have you turned the wheel side to side to confirm the source?
@JLE11776 жыл бұрын
Forget what I just said lol after a thorough cleaning I can see the leak, the is a metal hose thing coming from the pump, it has a wire plugged into it and it looks like it goes up to the resvior tank. I got a vid if u want to see, maybe u can tell what it is
