They're trying to kill the big black+pink lady, and anyone who's mostly green. They've already failed multiple times before but one of the characters got a literal retcon superpower and managed to set things up in a way that leads to this battle. The 2 dog characters and anyone who looks like a chess piece are bugged characters from the giant universe-spanning game they're all inside, and they're just here to fight anyone and everyone.

it's called collide because all the different plot threads, characters, and random bullshit that occurred in the previous 8000 pages crash together

Multiple different boss fights happening at the same time and intersecting with each other combined with a psuedo-meta-interaction of character literally being thrown between and even on "panels" of each event thats taking place
