Quickly and easily access victims with the S-CUT emergency cutting tool. The S-CUT’s recessed blade allows you to safely perform emergency PPE cut out or or cut the patient’s clothing easily. The ergonomic design and excellent grip can be used with or without gloves to cleanly slice through all kinds of material. The S-CUT is made from stainless steel and plastic. The circular cutting blade can be removed without tools to be cleaned or replaced. In this review you will see the S-Cut 501 and S-Cut QE. The S-Cut is made in Sweden.

When we got to test it we asked the fire House for hose that had holes etc from people driving over it. Different sizes, sheathing and thickness and not one did we have a problem! An Absolute Awesome piece of equipment

Not a first responder but I plan on getting one of the big ones and mounting on the driver's door, I'd rather overkill than under but that's just me plus the Anodizing will be easy to see at night.

What a great design, even the cheap one. My wife has a rotary fabric cutter and it's amazing, but this cutter, not being a rotary cutter is freaking awesome. But, OMG! The price sucked the breath right out of my lungs ... even the "cheap" one is pretty pricey if you're wanting one for each vehicle and I have an emergency bag for each of my vehicles.

Hi Cephas, think of it this way. The S-Cut QE costs $48.99 ea. (retail) but you get 5 cutting edges. Divide the $48.99 by 5 edges and your cost is $9.80 per edge. How much does a pair of shears cost? When you buy the S-Cut QE it's equivalent to buying 5 shears or more. Contact us about responder discounts.

@@triagelights I know that, but I have five vehicles. That's why I object to the price. It's at least twice and probably 3 to 4 times higher than it should be.

Ok so I keep trauma shears in my trauma kit and they go through airport security. How about these? Can I replace my shears with the s-cut? It appears they will handle everything my shears would and then some. So as long as they also will make it through the airport it might be worth it to make the switch.

The QE is comparable to most cutters on the market in the price range. Yes the 501 is PRICEY but it isn't for everyone. I don't think the QE is for everyone too, I think first responders would be in the market for it.

SkinnyMedic I bought a Gerber strap cutter and a CKRT K.E.R.T last week (for key ring EDC). $18 and $8 respectively. If I were still a first responder on the VFD and rescue squad, I think I would buy an S-Cut. Looks like a fine tool.

The S-Cuts are up to two times faster and in 4 rounds of removing clothing the rippers had to replaced, the S-Cuts did not, see this Naval Post Graduate School, Joint Inter-Agency Field Exercise (JIFX 17-3) experiment report, includes stakeholders comments, www.everythingtactical.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/F01-SCuts.pdf

It's $34.00 ea. but they come with an extra fee blade. That totals 12 cutting edges for $349 ($343.00/12 = $29.08 per cutting edge. When you replace the blade the ACP kit includes 4 blades and 4 hygienic covers for $89.00 ($89.00 / 24 cutting edges = $3.71 per) you are paying $3.71 per cutting edge. Bottom line is the S-Cut is a better cutter and is cheaper to use in the long run
