Yay, a ROTK playthrough. To be honest, I rather prefer the Japanese voice, rather than the Chinese voice, even though I am a Viet-Chinese haha... Damn though, wish you could've played as Lu Bu, but I understand... Lu Lingqi is also a beast! What a way to start, though I guess that's the time period when Lu Bu is fallen. GG!

Dude, it's kinda weird how you switch between canto and mandarin randomly. Like you read Lu Bu's name in canto, but Cao Cao is mandarin. Zhang Liao is even weirder since "Zhang" is canto and "Liao" is mandarin. Very unique Chinese ;) Also, ty for posting. I'm getting hyped for the game now. Just waiting till PK version comes out to get it all in one go. Big fan of how they made this a lot closer to Nobunaga 14. Wish they'd do thousands of officers like they do in Sozou though.

it appears this is a lot like 10. idk about you but I really like 11 alot. I've only played 4,7, and 11 and plan on getting 10. I disliked 7 to be honest. The battles sucked and the political stuff was kinda boring. I personally like playing as the whole kingdom. Though, I'm willing to give rpg another try in 10

Tsukyo Hoping there is a reason though. I had it happen before in Nobunagas ambition sphere of influence but i looked through everything to eventually realize even though we had similar stats the enemy doing it had several passive traits buffing him plus i was trying to shoot him in fog which halves your ranged damage so hopefully there is a similar system at work here to make it make sense

+javier garcia Sadly you cannot. There will be an English release in Asia at a later date, and no western release is planned as of yet. You can probably buy the English version when it is released in Asia if you are prepared to pay 90 dollars for a digital game (83 euro's).

+javier garcia I expect another 30th anniversary edition like they did with Nobunaga's Ambition Sphere of Influence; it will probably include the PUK and be reasonably priced, but we will have to wait for 1 - 1,5 years for it to come out. No announcements have been made regarding this though.

First of, there are only two versions; Japanese, and Chinese. Second; you should know by now that Lu Bu Feng Xian is Chinese AND can communicate in Chinese. SO OBIOUSLY he would choose the Chinese version...

Tsukyo Okay. I didn't know there are only two versions. And if there was an English version and it was available, I would actually expect him to play that version. Why? So he doesn't have to translate every single menu or cutscene on screen. Also, for the sake of views, most people on KZbin are attracted to English text or English speaking videos.

so is it possible to play the game more like the rot3k 4 or 11 versions where you play as the whole kingdom instead of one officer? I prefer the games I've mentioned more. I play 7 a couple of times and I just couldn't get into it. I'm hoping to 10 as it looks better

Hey Lu Bu Feng Xian, first of fantastic video! I've been waiting for the old officer style gameplay to come back but is there any idea if ROTK 13 will be localized to the United States in English instead of the Asia only version? Or if its only going to be the Asia only version would there be anyway to translate it since I am not proficient in Chinese or Japanese. From everything I've read you can only order it off Play Asia for the console versions in Chinese/Japanese subs which is a shame.

+Devin you can get this game off steam, but it's expensive. As for translation, I might understand the language, but I don't deal in tweaking the game, so maybe if there's a group and they ask for my help then I can do something about that. But otherwise the best I can do is make these videos and talk about in game mechanics as I go.

Thanks for the reply gents, I don't think the game would be capable of running on my current rig for the PC, plus there has been a lot of mixed reviews on the game via steam. I guess I'll just be patient and hope Wolf is right along with the forums for Sphere of Influence in that its going to get an English release. For now though I'll continue to just watch your videos and try to learn :)

Devin The mixed reviews are primarily from a release flop. People not understanding the import cost putting the game at $90 on steam and thinking it was the english version plus it was unplayable for a while so the first batch of player reviews was a lot of anger as you can imagine.

And if I Can.t have children do I can get married??? And last one: If i chosse to give someone other eeee title of "king" of the throne so i can later lpay this new character if y main character dies????

I can't quite understand what you're saying, but I'll try to answer. Yes, you can make the game follow the actual events that happened, which means it follows history. You can also get married. Can't have a child which sucks, but other than that, this is pretty much a game in which you can do something else like working while playing this game. I personally like it. It's much more relaxing than I thought it would be.

oh shut up. it is the same thing. they just use lubu's helmet and paste a random girl's face. lu bu's daughter was promised to yuan shu! but lubu being an asshole decided to break the agreement and killed the convoy just to retrieve his daughter! of course this angerd yuan shu and started a war. lu bu's wife was not diao chan either. diao chan is his concubine and a fictional character. his daughter name wasn't mentioned either! and lu bu was mighty but wasn't godly strong. he was just an asshole who had conflicts with every factions. so koei's idea of giving him low int is not right. lu was pretty smart, but not a lot of people liked him because of his nature. and his subordinates didnt like him either! he knew it and he didn't trust them. that is why he kept losing battles. here is one of the letter he sent to yuan shu. "You think that your army is powerful and you always boast of having mighty warriors under your command. You wanted to destroy me, but why did you change your decision every time? I may not be courageous, but I have dominated the Huainan region. Within a short period of time, you have become like a rat scurrying for shelter in Shouchun and you cannot emerge again. Where are your mighty warriors? You enjoy telling lies to everyone, but you cannot make everyone believe you. Since ancient times, people have employed the technique of sowing discontent between their enemies to overcome them. I am not the first person to use this strategy. I am still nearby so I can wait for your response." cao cao was the last one he messed with...he shoulda known better to stay away from cao cao. what was real though is cao cao DID CONSIDER to employ lu bu. however, liu bei, as cunning as he is, knew that cao cao would become unstoppable if lu bu were to be tamed by cao cao. so liu decided to point out that lu bu is untrustworthy and should be executed! a good point though. so cao cao killed him. but cao cao did take in zhang liao though. zhang liao's skill can one day surpass lu bu's even! and yes, zhang liao near the end of his days had skills that are unparalleled.

if there's one thing I can't stand in this game is the duel system. I wish it could be more automatic, like in wall of fire. I don't what this is. It's just, bad and dumb. the debate is fine but this isn't good at all

+dmitri george Well there's some strategy to it, but I prefer ROTK 11 myself since I like having some control when I fight. But yah, the duels in Wall of Fire were fun to watch no gonna lie
