This project does not make sense at all! The rich target buyers have more options to select, Sometimes price is not the only factor, there are safety, enviro, trustworthy, ROI .... 若我有资金,我可以到比较安全,舒适的地方买房。选择性价比很重要的!

If they have a plan to build a subway line linking Forest City directly to Tuas Link station with one-stop immigration check point, all units will be sold out within weeks. If the claim of Forest City can house 700k residents when fully completed is true, then it’s viable to build a subway line there for long term expansion. Other option is to build a ferry terminal in Forrest City that links directly to Marina Bay Cruise center with a regular scheduled departure timetable, like having ferry leaving every 15 mins during peak hours, and 1 hour during non peak hours. All these options only can be done if both countries can see the direct and indirect economic benefits for both side once being linked up.

Subway from Forrest City to Tuas? Yes absolutely BUT only when Forrest city population reaches 100,000 or 15% of targeted 700,000 people. Now you know why Subway is called MASS rapid transit system. Ferry from Forrest City to Marina Bay Cruise? Yes absolutely BUT both govt is building high speed rail already! There are economic benefit from Forrest city? The rental is falling and sellers cannot find buyers!! 60% of the buyers are foreigners. Meaning they bought for investment. They have no intention for long term stay. Just a place to park their money….and loosing them gradually and sadly. Guess who is the winner? The company that sells the land lah!
The project is 40% owned by Johore state government so helping the project is helping Johore economy too. The 4 suggestions sound reasonable and can work only if related stalkholders put in effort to revive the project. Spore can contribute too to establish a win win cooperation

大概10年前,一些友人问我对投资森林城市的看法。我只是提出一个问题: 一个成功的城市要有活力,it’s a cycle。看看森林城市有几样,对这些重要的因素有什么计划。政府是怎么样的状况和态度。这项目over- priced多少?大家对投资房地产不是新手了。现在来看碧桂园,会不会步恒大的后尘?很难说。但肯定日子不好过。对柔佛王室有什么影响吗?影响不大。

Building a city without population is not substantive. Shenzhen has 17 Million population in year 2000 to become what it comes today !
