São Paulo Brazil - Walking in Liberdade | 4k Walk (turn on subtitles)

Liberdade ( originally Field of the Gallows ) is a district located in the central zone of the city of São Paulo. It is the biggest stronghold of the Japanese community in the city, which, in turn, brings together the largest Japanese colony in the world, outside of Japan. Significant populations of Chinese, Taiwanese and Koreans also live in the district of Liberdade.
The cultural influence can be felt in the streets of typically oriental lamps (where even the establishments' signs are written in oriental characters) and in the themed fairs that take place periodically. There you can find several typical items of oriental and Japanese culture, making it a great shopping center for these products.
Since 1974 the entrance to Liberdade has been marked by a nine-meter tall red torii (a characteristic arch marking the entrance to Shinto Shrines). This towering structure, situated on Rua Galvão Bueno, is a distinctive representation of the neighborhood. Liberdade was successfully connected to the São Paulo subway network in the 1970s, opening the area up to commerce. Today, thousands of Paulistanos (citizens of São Paulo) flock to the public square in Liberdade every Sunday to purchase craft goods at the weekly fair. In January 2008, in order to celebrate 100 years of Japanese immigration to Brazil, a project to revitalize the quarter was approved by the mayor Gilberto Kassab. 40% of the restoration was for the visit of Crown Prince Naruhito to São Paulo in June 2008.

Lots of japanese decorations just not a lot of japanese. Maybe there used to be many but they been interracial marrying? I been to chinatown nyc, only time i was in the US and felt like i was in a foriegn country. Or go to any latino town in texas, very few americans live there..
