Oh god, what a magic time in life young people will never understand. 1979-80 was great. I had a 66 barracuda I bought from my neighbor for $500 bucks and drove it to LA. Didn’t have money for hotels so slept in the back seats. Walking on Santa Monica pier I met my wife working in a gift shop. 43 years later we’re still together.

True golden age hip hop had no problem because it was still true to the game.....but yea it there is alot of negative rap just like, i love old school like sam cooke, sos, teddy, curtis mayfield, whispers but i also noticed alot of negative old school too, presented positively.....it was alot of lust and sex and false senses of love too.....jus said in a smooth way.

What difference does it make what color you are about this song? According to Billboard, it reached Number 1 on the R&B chart, Number 3 on the Top 40-Rock chart, and between 2 to five on the Disco chart. And no Steve Dahl on Chicago radio didn't really kill disco dance music either. It revented itself into "house music" for the 80s, 90s, and 2000s.

Summer 1980! 43 years ago and I, a 29 year-old White Boy, married, went with my Wife Camping here in SoCal with two other couples. We set up Camp by a River in the Angeles Forest; no Campground, just the six of us. We had our BoomBox, a Campfire and 3 PUP Tents. Sitting around the Campfire in our Sand Chairs this Song came on. We Rose as ONE and started to Dance! We Laughed and Carried On with HUGE Smiles on our faces. All these years later, I remember it like it was Yesterday! That is the Sign of a MAGICAL MASTERPIECE of MUSIC! Tonight, as a Widower ALONE, I ROSE as ONE and Danced with a Big Smile on My Face! PRICELESS!

April 23,2024. My wife was a disco girl before I met her, and to hear this song she just lights up and starts dancing. 70’s were her era, and 80’s more mine, but I agree that these times were the best ever, best music, with clean lyrics, and great outfits on the band members. Groups like the SOS band should be very proud of themselves for all the joy they have brought to people of all races and ages. Can you imagine being a grandchild to lead singer Mary Davis of SOS Band and hearing this song, “ yep, that is my Grandmother”. Bless all of the SOS band , and Soul Train for these times. Epic for sure.

It got played at my 40th class reunion 7 times, people called it the Robert song. I had not been to one reunion until last year. I made sure everyone knew it was The S.O.S. band and that it's not the Robert song ha ha Thank you Tony

How can one be angry when listening to this? This is like audio-Prozac, nothing else in the world matters when this type of music comes on and you close your eyes for a few

Fabulous, brilliant. The powerful voice, the music, the musicians. Funk is a revolutionary black music that allowed people to have fun while dancing. Funk will never die...

It's ashamed my generation (2000s), doesn't really wanna hear great music like this. Most of us have been brained wash with negative music nowadays they have out. Good Music Never Dies.

It’s a damn shame for sure. 60’s-70’s music is so positive and wholesome. I’m 23 years old and mostly listen to 70’s soul & disco music. Trying to keep the old music alive ✌️

Obrigado .
