► Info on this Video ► My original SOS cover was very rushed, and frankly the audio and video were not up to a very high standard. This always bugged me as I never thought it'd get so many views. So I thought I'd right that wrong by releasing a remixed / remastered audio alongside a cleaned up video. No instruments or vocals have been rerecorded or added, nor has any new video been shot. Hear and see my SOS cover as it always should have been!

It probably isn't worth trying to educate you but I will try anyway. Just as Dimashs version of SOS is very different to the original that is because it is a cover with Dimash specific changes. Caleb is covering the Dimash version, not the original, and he is making the same artistic and discretionary changes so that he maximizes his style and colour and also because he simply cannot identically sing it as Dimash dId because no one in world can and should. Caleb honors Dimash by covering his version but not trying to copy it or better it. Dimash himself loves and appreciates when priple cover his music and encourages artists to not be intimidated and to feel free to sing his music. Caleb Coles is one of the very few artists on KZbin who belong anywhere near doing covers of Dimash music. Anyone with an appreciation for music and any understanding of technical skill applauds Caleb for both his singing and arrangement of this song as well as give him kudos for doing justice to this song. Also please feel free to post your cover of SOS.

That is literally the point of the video. So I don't know what you're talking about as far as not being a "copy cat" and "Caleb's arrangement", etc. It's NOT Caleb's arrangement, it's Dimash's! I am 46 years old and have been steeped and educated in music and music theory since I was in the womb. I started piano at the age of 4. My whole life I have listed to and educated myself about every aspect of music. I can play 5 instruments at a professional level and two at even higher levels, in various genres from classical to jazz to bluegrass to metal, etc. I have lived music. I love music. Not that any of that matters. Whether or not I have a music background or can sing this song has NOTHING whatsoever to do with my ability to comment on its various aspects. And to that end, I say again, he sounds like he's on helium, or he's trying to purposely sound weird or funny, like he's singing in a goofy voice to kids to make them laugh or something. Not all of the performance sounds like this, it's mainly the parts that are out of his skill level where he starts to sound weird.
