I wonder if William Shakespeare was alive in their day, what tragedy would he have wrote and called it to reflect the loss and anguish left behind. Well done young lady for a beautiful tribute to alove haunted by death, grief but never forgotten. Kind regards from the uk. My Irish grandad was 16 years of age when this happened so probably felt the pain along with other Irish people at the loss of Michael Collins.

Thank you for your lovely comment, I was inspired to create this video from my first visit to Michael Collins' grave and seeing the Valentines. After remembering that Kitty Kiernan was buried nearby, I realised that I could create something out of it. I feel Shakespeare could have created something out of it, if he were here today. Thank you so much.

There are plenty of people who feel Dev and his ilk gave up their right to be called Irish for what they did. If Collins had lived, he would've accomplished what he promised in a few short years after that tragic treaty, the retaking of those 6 counties; Dev was no more than a power-hungry fascist who preferred to rule in hell rather than to serve in heaven. A pox on his name.

Before my family moved to the colonies in the early 1900's looking for a better life, they were from Leith in Scotland, today it's part of Edinburgh. Worked in the naval construction industry People there were so poor they could hardly afford to buy a pair of shoes and children walked barefoot, people went hungry because they couldn't afford food everyday. Look it up pictures of Scotland in the 1800's, 1900's, the poverty is horrifying. We share this exploitation by the UK government with you guys. And even the own English people were exploited and lived in near slave labor But we never had heroic figures like Michael Collins and Patrick Pearse, we also share the sentiment of adoration for those martyrs and heroes from Ireland. If there's a villain here it's the UK government, they've been exploiting their own population for a long long time

I very much empathize with Ulster about how badly Irish Nationalist have been treated by the British and Unionists, but Collins did not sell Ulster out. Collins tried until his dying day to take Ulster from British rule. Ulster was partitioned in 1920 in the Government of Ireland Act, and came into force as a fait accompli on 3 May 1921. The Treaty was signed in December, 2021 and Griffith was tricked into allowing the partition language to remain. However, Collins never accepted the partition and continued to smuggle arms to the Ulster IRA and take real life steps to free Ulster. It was only after his death in August of 1922 that the Free State Government abdicated responsibility for overturning the partition. Recognition of the real situation is necessary if it is ever to be rectified.
