Ma’am you don’t understand how much I absolutely loved this! Sailor moon has been a big comfort show and manga for me and has influenced me in many ways and hearing this adaptation was beautiful 🤩
This is quite some juxtaposition! The seriousness of traditional Japanese music and this elderly band, against the bright, chirpy anime music of Sailor Moon! Wow!
@alestane25 жыл бұрын
"elderly"? The shamisen and the flute players might not be youngsters, but the koto and percussion musicians certainly don't look elderly to me.
@zhouwu5 жыл бұрын
To be fair, I did kinda notice the youth of the koto and percussion players well after it was way too late. Oh well. To be human enough to make a mistake shouldn't be a death sentence.
@alestane25 жыл бұрын
As it happens, I didn't condemn you to death, so that's cool.
@zhouwu5 жыл бұрын
@opsyoz huh?
@zhouwu5 жыл бұрын
@opsyoz True that. Just checking it wasn't a reference to the juxtaposition thing, because Japan seems to be full of it. It's very attention grabbing, that strategy. But yeah, glad I'm not from Japan. Death sentences suck. But I wonder if suicidal people would feel glad to be sentenced to death. Or do suicidal people sentence themselves to death? Or would they get offended if someone else sentences them to death? And speaking of which, is suicide a form of self murder where the perpetrator and the victim are one? Or is that too many cans of worms? But what if someone wanted to open a worm farm? Then they might be glad to dig up a can of worms. So many traditional ideas and traditions to subvert, I could go at it all day! Maybe it'll be like charging at windmills. But what if the local government wanted to replace the windmills with better stuff? Then maybe you'd be happy I knocked those windmills down for them. But then again, I might get some complaints from the windmill owners. Or, if they are out of use anyway, maybe they won't complain too much. Especially if they wanted to demolish them but never got round to it. But then the historical preservation society might complain. But then, if I'm a living Don Quixote, what do they have to complain about? I am a historical icon. God, you can argue just about anything!

Unlike in the rest of the world, the Japanese take their anime and game music as seriously as a piece of traditional or classical music. So no, I do not think they were compelled to do this for 'likes', etc, but for simply sheer enjoyment and fun as well as expressing their love of different genres.
