@@topias8062S-Ranks’ strength varies a lot but yes. Let’s say hes up against an S rank mage or healer with a physical strength of an A-Rank, he’ll probably win. But even with that, it’s still a stretch. Ranks will always be the primary determining factor. An S-Rank healer could have a buff skill (like Byung-Gu) and it would be enough to turn the tides to their favour.

Also, there is some variation of power within each rank. So as you suggest, he is probably a high A rank, but given that S rank are simply "off the charts" it wouldn't qualify as one.

I think it's said somewhere in previous episodes (maybe S2E1?) that to clear a certain raid, you'll need either x rank or 10 of the rank below it. So it could be right to assume that a low ranking S rank could take on multiple (maybe even 10) of a low ranking A rank. This obviously skews weirdly because there is no SS or SSS rank, so one S rank could probably also take on 10 other S ranks if they were strong enough. We've already seen that A ranks are nothing to scoff at. In S2E1, it shows one just soloing the bears that even the B rank was scared of. So Woo is very, very strong. Probably high on the A rank tier and close to an S rank, but still incredibly powerful. I bet he could take on Tank and Iron in a battle at the same time. Maybe even more.

Minor trivia: Dungeon ranks are essentially "larger" than hunter ranks. Basically, you always want hunters who outrank the dungeon in your strike party. S rank dungeons are incredibly rare, and INSANELY dangerous because no1 can outrank them. The S rank dungeon on that island has been raided multiple times by several guilds collaborating and they still couldn't beat it.

The dungeon where the high ranks, its the island dungeon (Dungeon Break) with the flying ants, etc. that is referenced. @10:30 also S rank healer in that same event. That was an S rank dungeon that multiple S ranks failed to conquer, resulting in the Dungeon Break. That being said, in this episode they explain that the S Rank is a very broad term, basically meaning the machine can't calculate it. So similar to One Punch Man, there can be a huge range of power among S ranks, more so than lower tiers. They've hinted at someone "faking" their rank, but I don't know how that would work. The machine used to test doesn't seem like the typical "use your power on this" type of thing in some anime where he could hold back, so I don't believe Jinwoo could "restrain" his power to artificially lower his rank. Another thing to remember is "No amount of training can increase your rank" You can think of ranks like the power of a character you get in a game. You can get better at using the character, but you'll never be able to be more powerful than that maximum. So if you imagine a game where the characters aren't balanced, imagine getting stuck with the absolute weakest and no matter how good you get at playing it, you just can't do anything to a top rank.

While yes, there aren't that many S rank to be measured in comparison to others. The "10th" is purely in S.Korea. So there are still many more than 10 throughout the world. Currently (other than Jinwoo) we know of 6 1. Go, the old man 2. Fire Dude 3. Cha - the hot girl 4. The wolf dude also wanting to scout Jinwoo 5. Hwang who got beat up 6. Jinwoo's pops That being said, I don't know if HWANG is counted among those, as he isn't part of Korea, so he may have "awakened" elsewhere, thus not counted among the 10.
