Hey Elie, yeah I think I finally found a video angle + light setup that I like (for a couple weeks month at least). I have very good news, Jung is actually planned within the next weeks. Next week there will be a little more Kierkegaard, then comes Nietzsche and after that there will be a week or two with 3 or more regular videos (and some of these short vids that are under a minute) on Jung! Is there anything in particular that you are interested in? (core theories with archetypes and everything, therapy, religious views) We probably go over a variety of topics but maybe you have something specific in mind. Hope your doing well!

There's a balance with love in my opinion. On the one hand, retaining your judgement and awareness is important because otherwise you can leave yourself to be taken for a fool. On the other hand, you also have to retain openness and spontaneity or you will hide your true self and heart in a 'cold room' within and nobody will be able to connect with you.

I think it does depend on the area of love that we are talking about. I completely agree when you for example talk about the love that you experience early on in a relationship which heavily clouds your judgement as you want to see the other person in the most positive way. That should most definitely be balanced. However, when talking about an all-encompassing love and appreciation for life itself then that inevitably comes with somewhat rational judgements as it not only sees the good but rather includes everything. From that state of mind you see all the negative things but you can still bring some love towards them because you realize how intertwined they are with the positive. Now when it comes to making choices you include the positive and the negative, you see the polarity and thus make rational decisions whereas the falling in love experience in the early stage of a relationship does not see how positive and negative things are intertwined, its just focused on the positive which leads to irrational decisions.

As a dane I want to tell you got the pronounciation of "Søren" allright. In german letters that would be Sören. However, not sure, but I do believe your german ä is equal to our danish å (ë=æ). "Kirkegaard" is in old danish and the "gaard"-part is supposed to be pronounce as Å. Thus aa=å=ä :-) If you had to recommend just one single book to start my journey into the world of philosophy, which would you recommend to at beginner?

Yeah Sören is a name we have in germany and I hoped it would be similar to it, with the "gaard" part I just gave up but thanks for clearing things up. As for book recommendations I usually suggest a german one that gives a good overview but I'm afraid there is no translated version. However there is a book that I've heard of repeatedly when it comes to introductory books and that is "Sophie's world". It is on my to-read list but I haven't read it myself (yet) so I can't vouch for it but I'd say its worth a shot.

Oh and if you decide to start with or eventually want to pick up a specific philosopher/philosophy then be sure to always have some secondary literature/lectures on hand as the primary literature (the actual philosophy texts) can be a tough read on its own.
