Our biggest mistake as a species is that we assume that we have qualities that we do not yet possess: we pay attention, but only sporadically; we choose freely, but only intermittently. Kierkegaard understood this.

This is not a secret. However, there is a catch. The level of anxiety is the key. It's the same as stress. Low and challenging levels of stress are beneficial, but after a certain level, it becomes harmful. Too much anxiety becomes debilitating. The dose makes the poison.

Huh! That’s interesting… Currently my personal philosophy is developing in exactly this direction - it basically felt like a summary of the thoughts I had throughout the last 2 months! Awesome video - it was on point!

Maybe Kierkegaard recognized that there's something potentially superhuman in the human capacity of forethought, to choose or determine the future through one's will. The meaning of faith, in this sense, is to be bound to freedom, or to live by one's true will, not to the will of god nor any sacred order nor law. The catch is that not everyone is equiped to realize their will, the deep intuition, or geniousness, that this requires, is an odd talent that awakens in few

Like all things, you can turn that anxious energy into drive, Like emotion in a gym for example.

I guess it often does for people. But it's because they get stuck in it. What this is talking about is saying you have to have anxiety and fear to realize things need attention important things. And we are running on a limited amount of time to operate. You need to be stirred up and feel fear to get you to become motivated. But just focusing on the fear keeps people there. Where as fear is best used to be afraid of what might happen if we do nothing rather than ever be afraid of what might happen while doing something. Regrets are most always for things we haven't done instead of what we have. Even if things turned out horribly. Usually when it's said and done we are glad we went through it. Because it taught us things. Where if you just stay at your mom's house playing video games. When you are 40 you will feel horrible regret that you didn't live life. You will wish for another chance to make any awful decision that you never had the courage to make.

As far as I understand life, guarantees don’t exist, nothing can be prevented except in paper, anything can happen at any moment, we have little control over circumstances, faith works because without it we cannot please God and because we know that it works
